  in the aug. 1 wt, in a secondary article on numbers, the following paragraph appears:.

  "what were "the signs" around which the three-tribe divisions were to encamp in the wilderness?.

  the bible does not give a description of what these signs were.

  Clearly, as this Watchtower shows, the Society is well aware of what facts it is hiding.

  They're afraid their flock might find out - and undermine their enforced ( disfellowshippping) opinion about flag salutes.

  Sorry, Metra, but the Society never said (I don't think) that the problem is putting up a flag. The problem is to give it devotion, to salute it.

  So, if the these signs prove to be flags, a loyal JW could very well say "fine, no where in the Bible reads that they saluted it. So, the Society is right".

  But I agree with you that the Society is not being honesty here. They could very well say that those "signs" were flags and still hold on to their current stance, as bogus as it is.

  Do not turn this maniac in to the authorities for murder, but if you find out he is smoking pot then you have our blessing to bust his ass.

  Or if ...

  he masturbates unrepentantly or...

  he celebrates aniversaries or...

  he celebrates christimas or...

  he dates a non-JW or...

  he joins the military....

  then you have our blessing to bust his ass.

  NEW LIGHT?

  according to a jw witness friend of mine it is not always necessary to go to the elders to confess, not even the more serious sins such as immorality.. she said the only reason one would go to the elders is if they feel they no longer have jehovah's favor.

  the elders are there to help them see they can still be loved by jehovah.. is she on crack!

  i had a long discussion with her yesterday about religion and jws.

  She seemed to be a very Liberal JW.

  She may be a liberal JW, but she must have smoked or drunk something. The simple fact that she's liberal, is totally against the tenets of the JW religion. Remember all thak talk about keeping the pace with Jehovah's organization? No independent thinking? No rebellion against "those taking the lead"?

  I think she forgot all of that. Which is good. It's a sign she hasn't been to meetings or reading the magazines lately.

  i just had a discussion with a relative who attended the district convention.

  he gave me the booklet, "keep on the watch.

  " according to him, the speaker who introduced the booklet talked about the people who were stumbled because of the change in understanding regarding "this generation.

  "the Society really said something about 1975, but Jehovah allowed it to go on because He wanted to test and refine His people. And sure enough, it was what happened"?

  Those true life stories in the mags

  those life stories of bros and sis's in the awakes and wts were always very inspirational and encouraging to me when i was in the borg.

  everyone enjoyed reading them.

  now i realise that these experiences would have been censored and edited for maximum affect on the readers.

  i've lived here for about 1 1/2 years and haven't seen a single jw.

  i read all the posts where there have been run-ins, people called on, elders talked to, etc.

  and couldn't hardly wait for my turn.

  I didn't need to tell her about the UN, or ask a question she couldn't answer.... I was just enjoying my reaction to them. There was none.

  Very interesting reaction!

  I had a similar experience once. I met a "brother" in a home improvement store and he greeted me nicely and I did the same to him. He never mentioned "jehovah" or "kingdom hall". I didn't either. We talked briefly as good old friends, as if I had never set foot in a KH.

  I felt NO need to give him ANY explanation. My sense of calmess and control is due in part to the support of folks here. Thanks.

  New Nail Polish!

  i had quit wearing nail polish because it chips, etc.

  but i happened to buy revlon's new "10-day system" for $5.99 for two bottles: the color and the top coat.. i did a french manicure and it has lasted with nary a chip or peel for 7 days now!

  and i've scrubbed stuff, done dishes, washed my car and on & on it lasts!.

  9/11(Film) - Freedom burning alright

  I saw the movie too and would strongly recommend you to do the same, no matter what side of the aisle you are in.

  If you expect Moore to bash only G.W.Bush, you'll be surprised. Although GWB is the most pounded, you'll see him attack the media, the military (lightly), congress (lightly), the Saudis, even the democrats.

  I am not a democrat nor a republican, but one thing I can tell you: I never saw a movie that people would applaud at the end and would stay seated for a little while as if it was too short, even though it is almost 2 hours long.

  Michael Moore is fat, ugly, ill-shaved... but he's a heck of a filmmaker. How can a guy with a camera and the help of a few other people produce a documentary that makes 8 million dolars in its opening day alone? He's competent!

  Of course this is my opinion. See this movie and form your own.

  2 Very Nice & Sincere People

  whilst shopping today i met a young newly married witness couple.

  whilst i havnt been in a kingdom hall in over 2 years.

  they were very friendly and it was nice we could talk on things other than safe-subjects.

  Most likely the same way you acquired the knowledge that enabled you to debate with them: from the INTERNET!

  Which is a form of hypocrisy. They disobey their organization by visiting "apostate" sites, in order to be able to defend the org itself.
