dinosaurs(sp?)
by datsdethspicable inwhat is the belief of jdubs about dinosaurs now?
my daughter came home the other night from her grandma(jw) saying that she wouldn't let her watch a show about dinosaurs on discovery channel because what they were showing is not true.
dinosaurs were not meat eaters.

Well, an active apostate dedicates a good portion of his/her day in "spreading the good news". Some have examined their lives and decided they could make room for this sacrifice. We applaud those that have expanded themselves in this ministry and do our best to support and encourage them.
I think your statistics show that MORE of us could make room in our lives for this vital, lifesaving, work instead of concentrating our lives on material pursuits.

Was Your Growth Stunted Because You Were A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus inif you were not ever a jw, how would your life have been different-----socially, materially, educationally, sexually, emotionally, mentally....etc.??

... I've had to grow up emotionally. I now trust my feelings and my "inner voice". For me, this was probably the most damaging aspect of the JW faith, the demonizing of emotions. The heart was to be "guarded". You weren't to trust your feelings or your instincts. Gawd, I know why. Mine was yelling at me to get out since I was a teenager... took me an additional 15 yrs to "listen" to myself.
I feel now. I believe because of the disfellowshipping policy, hatred you're to have for the world, careful of association in the hall, etc. etc. much of me was emotionally vacant. I've since learnt to fill the void and feel again.

Want to know more about JW
by grumpy inhello everyone.. i am doing a school project in which i am supposed to gain more understanding about jw.
well, i thought, what better way to gain more knowledge of jw than to ask jws themselves?
so i will list a few topics, and those who feel like helping me can tell me about them, in detail, if possible.. .

Go to their Official Website and do the searches - or Media area. Its from the "horse's mouth" there. BTW, when I did my school projects, I did the research myself. I for one, ain't supplying your answers.

Unexplained mysteries, did you ever experience any?
by JH in.
i was just wondering if any of you have any stories about unexplained mysteries, like seeing a ufo, or anything that you would consider unexplainable.

Mulan - weird. That happened to one of my siblings. Exactly the same thing you described. She told me about it, and I believe her.
Which book did you read? I've read her "The Other Side and Back"... very interesting book. Out of all the "after death" theories out there, I hope its reincarnation. That one appeals to me.

I saw the Ogopogo. We lived in the Okanagan in BC for quite some time. One morning, over breakfast, our family saw him. We lived near the lake and had a huge window overlooking it from our dining/living area. Some try to say it could have been a boat, log, school of fish, etc. BUT it wasn't. We were all in awe, and I'm just thankful that there were others with me when we saw him. We looked at each other - like... did you just see what I saw???? Crazy. I had never really believed in it until then.

The Sin of Sodom & Gomorrah in the Bible and Jewish Tradition
by Leolaia ini'm starting this thread to post some of my articles that originally appeared on a jokes thread which should probably better appear in the "bible research & study articles" folder.
so here goes...... what was the sin, or sin(s) that sodom & gormorrah was judged for?
the original account in genesis actually does not say.
