Some elders are genuine, but by and large it is my belief the position attracts a certain personality, one that is making up for their own insecurities by dominating others and being a general Richard Cranium type.

Also, will the WTBTS convert motels to rest homes for JWs...and all you have to do make the WTBTS the beneficiary of your house and assets when you die.

JWs already give their children's inheritances to WT. WT doesn't need to operate "rest homes" to successfully pilfer the coffers of JW families. In reality, WT doesn't give a damn about the welfare of retiring/elderly JWs or anyone else.

My thoughts while watching Schindler's list movie...
by NVR2L8 ini'm not a big movie watcher but last night i watched part of schindler's list.
this was my second attempt to do so because i couldn't watch the whole movie when it first came out.
again last night i cried at the cruelty of it all and hatred behind the extermination of 6 million people because they were of different origin or had different beliefs.

How can JWs see the cruelty in the Holocaust as coming from Satan and still believe their deliverance by their loving God can only be achieved by the destruction of millions of lives at Armageddon?

It's not just JWs that feel this way. Many/most of the Fundamentalist religions like JWs relish the thought of god exterminating everyone who does not believe in the same fictions as they do.

Incidentally, a belief that is becoming more common among JWs (I've heard it from a Circuit Overseer from the platform) is that most JWs will die at Armageddon as well. I've heard one elder recently say that "80% of JWs will not make it". I guess because they've already condemned all non-JWs to death, the only ones left to turn on are their own brothers. Wonderful religion, isn't it ?

The answer to your question is what Finkelstein posted earlier:

What this means is WT became an NGO for exactly the same reason as the religions they routinely condemn: it was to WT's political/religious/self-serving advantage to get in bed with the UN and the OSCE in order to receive favors from these same entities. They could not receive these favors without NGO status. So why is it wrong for the Catholic Church to do it and not WT????

Again, WT'sexplanations fall flat based on WT's own rhetoric. Even if they became an NGO only to promote "kingdom interests" (that is, Watchtower Corporation interests), WT still cannot justify an alliance with the UN or the OSCE. According to WT, are these two political-military organizations working for Jehovah's Kingdom™ or for Satan's system opposed to Jehovah's Kingdom™? WT clearly states they are opposed to god and will be destroyed. So how can ANY alliance be justified??? It cannot. Where is WTs fallback position of "waiting on Jehovah"? Do they lack faith that their god Jehovah™ can help them, so they need to curry favor with Satan's world in order to move ahead? Apparently so.
