Congregation Pledge Disgusted Elder
by rrb2016 inat the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.
he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.
then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

They decided to send $300 or so a month to the BORG, although last month they claim they only collected $600 with expenses of $700. They have $8000 in the bank. I wonder if that will be sent to the BORG also.

According to the addendum BOE letter of 5-12-13, congregations are only to retain enough funds to cover "two to three months" worth of expenses.
If your cong. has $8000 in its account, and monthly expenses are $700, then, if your elders follow the WT's demands, they'll be sending $5900 of your money to WT.
It's "for Jehovah", though, so don't worry about it. If your cong. gets into a bind, god will write you a check and cover it.

.
A prime example is WT's recent request for funds to aid the Phillipines after a massive typhoon destroyed the area. While 'promising' to use any donated funds for disaster relief, WT added the qualifier, 'but please don't specify that the money is to go only for disaster relief. We'll use it for whatever we deem fit. Just donate'.
Since WT has no transparency and discloses none of its finances, a JW has no idea where their donations are actually going. Add to this the three 'secret' pages of this BOE letter containing special instructions on how the elders are to mug the congregation, this entire arrangement stinks of a scam.
