i was looking at the universal declaration of human rights posted at un.org and also the description of what constitutes a violation of religious freedom at uslegal.com .. .
according to the declaration of human rights:.
article 18.. everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
Once governments grow up and quit treating religion with kid gloves, and requires them to abide by the same rules that every other progressive institution sees as humanly decent, then you'll see changes.
Until that time, you'll see religion exert the same force and idiotic traditions that have historically kept religion in the Dark Ages while humanity progresses by leaps into a better way of doing things.
i would be interested to know if the announcement came of an immenent nuclear war would you start praying or get drunk etc etc..
If a nuclear war starts, would that not indicate god has already failed mankind?* So why pray?

i saw an article from last year's watchtower about a guy who had barely been mormon for very long, and obviously did not know what we believe, who was given this magazine by jw's to show him "the truth.
" he claims to have proven to himself that it was true from information on the lds church's website.

There is a post where it was mentioned that a CO said it could be the last memorial because the end is so close. There are ones who are claiming the end is so close and they are aluding to it happening this year.

So how do you get around the fact that, just like WT, the Mormons don't have these "gifts" either?
