@ NT: I definitely think a chocolate cream pie should be thrown into the face of Anthony (Tight pants) Morris 'The Turd'
Frankly, (pun intended) I'd rather like to see him pelted to a pulp by a relentless barrage of hot dogs.....
if you do, or decide to do it please take a video and post it on utube.
call it 'sparlock's revenge'.

i went to the whole three days of regional convention in amherst ma.
mostly i slept through the talks, and i did get a lot of exercise walking around the concourse area looking for a bathroom that didn't have an exesive wainint line to go pee, yes, at this convention even the men's rooms had waiting lines!!!
it seemed like a full third of the audience was perpetually walking around and socializing during the program.. there were so many errors, so many speakers tripping over their words from the manuscripts they were reading.
@ Crazyguy: why do they even have bibles anymore, most of thier doctrine is man made...
.
Precisely. WT says that no one can read their Bible and understand it on their own. Only the GB can explain it. Really, what this means is a JW is wasting their time by doing any Bible reading whatsover.
a big discussion driving back from the regional convention about what exactly was meant about pets.. the warning was obvious to me.
don't get pets, they cost time and money and you would do better to spend your time and money supporting the organization and going in field service.. as to the wine and beer, because the bro during his soliloquy admitted that the first thing he would like to do is relax after a hectic day at work with a glass of wine or beer, his conscience was traumatized.
however he came up with a perfect idea, he'd go tend the garden (obviously a solution for a married bro) or hit some golfballs at the driving range (maybe he's not married).. maybe jesus should have told the wine guzzlers at cana to sober up and go till the fields.. .
@ stuck: how the f#$k can men living in Bethel, who dont have pets, presume to write talks about not getting attached to pets!
.
By the same way that men living in Bethel, who don't have children (and probably never will), presume to write talks about how to raise children.

@ dagney:Is there a place I can find that? I send this thread and the other recent threads to a JW today. I would love to be able to show them the $1.2 billion figure.
.
An online search will get you a lot of info. The Brooklyn news outlets have reported on all WT real estate sales, including the dollar figures. To date WT has actually sold well over $800 million worth of properties. Here's one article:
http://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/34/32/dtg_bridgeparkdealmain_2011_08_12_bk.html
"The deal calls for the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society ’ s holdings in Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO to be rezoned for residential use — a change that real-estate experts believe will send the value of the Society ’ s properties well north of $1 billion."
when...... 1) we follow christ example not the gb.
2) stop df'ing those for challenging current or past doctrine and allow us to use our god given gift of reason and free wil.
sure kick out the scumbags even the lions club have rules for membership, but not those who just use their brains and consience.. 3) get rid of the nonsensical blood teaching that has cost the lives of thousands and beg god for forgiveness.
@ DoT: ADCMS said:"No JWs...donate to charities."
Just have to point out, that is completely untrue. I have done, and still do. So do some of my friends and family that are Witnesses. No need to exaggerate, you're more intelligient than that.
.
Point taken. I was going off personal experience and observation. The JWs I've known consider donations to the WT to be the best, and only, way to give money to "charity". ' "Worldly" charities are corrupt, so why give them money?', etc.
I was not intentionally exaggerating, but I did make an unfair blanket statement.
to all bodies of elders.
re: notification of disfellowshipping or disassociation.
dear brothers:.
It's called "win-lose". WT is built on it.
three days ago we mixed up the recipe and sprayed the driveway cracks and several places where the weeds have been hard to get rid of.. today the weeds are dead just like when we've sprayed commercial weed killer.. mix one gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, 5 to 6 tablespoons of dawn dishwashing liquid.
note: don't spray if it's fixin' to rain, wait for dry weather so the stuff will stay on the weeds.
and don't spray where you want anything to grow ever!.
thanks, Marina. Added it to my file for homemade products.

Other than the above the R&F JW's are truly self sacrificing, loving, family oriented, honest and yes dare I say it UNITED people
.
The JWs "united" appearance is the natural result of being forced to conform to the totalitarian rulership of the GB. What seems to be a united organization is nothing more than 7,5 million JWs who simply have no other choice than to conform or be ousted.
This also applies to "brotherly love". For the most part, JW "friends" are friends only because you happen to go the the same KH; stop attending meetings for even a short time or express the most innocent dosagreement with the GB, and see how many friends you really have. In JW Land: none.
JWs are "self-sacrificing" only in regards to fulfilling WT's daily/weekly list of mandated tasks. No JWs volunteer to work in soup kitchens or donate to charities. Take a Pioneer off the list and see if they continue to put in Pioneer hours. Without the title to go along with the "self-sacrifice", no JW will expend the effort...ever.
"Family-oriented": humans are family oriented by nature. This is not due to the work of WT. Besides, how "family-oriented" is a family if they'll shun a family member for life based on nothing more than their family member has a different opinion than the WT? Again, the so-called "family-oriented" aspect of JWs, like their "self-sacrifice", 'unification' and "brotherly love" is only superficial. When put to the test to prove its worth, it falls like a house of cards.
my sister came to the society's defense on the issue of "pledged amounts" not being accurate because a realative stated that it didn't happen in her congregation.
so i said they were mistaken, and that i had access to the letters proving it.
she doubted that they were authentic.
