sparrowdown: That's the second biggest bun I have ever seen.
What's the first?? Just curious.
i think its pretty clear that the gb are power hungry.
you cannot listen to the branch visit and not see clear as day that there are some of them that are loving the power.
it showed the clearest with anthony morris.. now all these sex abuse scandals and news media are taking their power away.

To add to DoC's list:
> using the generic "brazen" term as a catch-all in order to DF a person on any trumped-up charge a JC wants to use.
> The GB ramping up their self-aggrandizing tear by unilaterally declaring themselves the faithful slave.
> If anyone hasn't noticed, the title has progressed from "governing body" to "Governing Body".
> The WT's renewed focus on labelling anyone who disagrees with, or even questions WT, as an "apostate". A recent WT article warned JWs to shun even an active brother if that person talks about WT in a questioning manner.
> The recent largest money grab in WT history.
> "listen, obey and be blessed".
And, finally:
Paragraph 17 from the Stupefied (simplified) WT edition:
"At that time, the direction that you receive from Jehovah’s organization may seem strange or unusual. But all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether we agree with them or not, because obeying these instructions will save our lives." (W 11-15-13)
If that doesn't smack of desperation by escalation of control, I don't know what does.
'trusted' jehovahs witness raped and sexually abused girls.
court: barry furlong arrives at bournemouth crown court.
first published tuesday 9 december 2014 in news by jane reader.
"Out of convicted rapists, 57% admitted to reading pornography. 95% admitted to reading the Bible."
I can see the day when mental institutions are going to be inundated with jehovahs witnesses .
They already are. They are called "Kingdom Halls". LOL.
all the animals on earth were destroyed in the flood of noahs day apart from those in the ark ,apparently no sea creatures were destroyed in the flood , why is that ?.
this is not an issue that only affects jehovahs witnesses , it is one that affects all beleivers that accept the bible as gods word.. obviously sea creatures were not put on the ark , no whales ,no dolphins , no fish , no krill , no plankton etc.
you can fill in the rest .. so my question is , why were land animals / birds singled out for destruction ?, what wrong did they do to deserve this judgement against them .
TheRedeemer: I wonder how big the bible would be if they removed all the silly stories (i.e. flood, red sea), miracles, violence, atrocities by God, atrocities commited by God's servants, idiotic finicky rules, prophecies and just left facts and good advice?
Not sure where I got this quote from but it seems apropos here:
"Erase the whole bible, and just have one page. Written on that page are bold letters; "Don't be a dick"
wife was wondering.
$24,000 to use a Hall you have already paid for ?
Yes. It just happened recently at an Ass Hall in my area, too. Got the report directly from someone who attended.

We have to exercise common sense with regards the flood of Noah's day:
Are you talking to us? Or religious people? Because "common sense" holds no sway with the religious.
- We are not told the the entire earth was flooded. We are told that a "world" was. That world was the world (locale) in which Noah and other on the earth lived.
- Keep in mind that God had not confused mankinds languages so there were no people anywhere else on the earth other than the locale (world) in which Noah lived.
- Noah did not have the resources or time to travel great distances to gather all of the animals on the earth.
- What was flooded was the locale in which Noah and the rest of evil mankind lived in those days. That was the only "world" there was.
- Where did all of the water in the earth we see today come from?
And you know all of this how?
The really sad part is that no matter how one is reasoned with, they will defend the misleaders and their teachings rather than listen to God and the one He told us all to listen to.
The sad part is when people ignore the science and continue to defend a laundry list of impossibles and fanciful stories concocted by illiterate ancient goat herders. BTW- Why believe in god and Jesus, the persons mentioned in the same book that describes the Flood? Nullify one and you nullify the other.
wife was wondering.
When do they start: seemingly too soon
and end?: seemingly never

It dosent make sense to flood the earth when you have billions of angels coild have easily handled matters.
It does in the context of the always-angry, hair-trigger tempered god, Jehovah.
Jehovah has always been interested solely in wreaking havoc over the widest swath possible... and not with whether it actually made sense or not.
i found an article on the dr. sears website about the benefits of breasfeeding.
according to the article it says: "a drop of breastmilk contains about one million white blood cells.
" it also says "colostrum also contains higher amounts of white blood cells..........than mature milk.
if the animal was already expired there was no need to bleed it.
Once an animal is dead, it is impossible to bleed it. Regardless, the Law clearly said the meat could be eaten.
'Anyone, whether native-born or alien, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then he will be clean. 16 But if he does not wash his clothes and bathe himself, he will be held responsible.' --Lev. 17:15
"If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean till evening. 40Anyone who eats some of the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening." -- Lev. 11:39
marrow was not excluded from the Hebrew diet even though it contained the blood cells :
"Animal bone marrow was apparently used for food by the Israelites. (Compare Mic 3:2, 3.) It has a very high nutritional value, being rich in protein, fats, and iron. Jehovah’s banquet for all the peoples, therefore, fittingly includes symbolic "well-oiled dishes filled with marrow."—Isa 25:6." --Insight p 345
In addition it is not excluded from Jehovah's Witnesses medical treatment. They may accept a bone marrow transplant if they wish, even though it contains someone elses blood cells: Wt 84 5/15 p31
.
Additionally, the Law allowed Jews to sell unbled meat to foreigners. Go figure.

Question: how can the WTBTS argue that organs/tissues can be accepted by JWs but blood cannot? Scientifically, blood is as much a tissue as any other in the body, as the following information reveals:
Blood is a specialized bodily fluid in animals that delivers necessary substances such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transports metabolic waste products away from those same cells.
In terms of anatomy and histology, blood is considered a specialized form of connective tissue, given its origin in the bones and the presence of potential molecular fibers in the form of fibrinogen.
from
http://www.siumed.edu/~dking2/intro/blood.htm
Blood is a highly specialized, fluid tissue.
Blood is traditionally classified as a specialized form of connective tissue . To appreciate the basic unity of blood and other varieties of connective tissue, consider the following.
All of the several blood cell types originate in the connective tissue of bone marrow.
Certain white blood cells, notably lymphocytes and monocytes, move freely back and forth between blood and other connective tissues.
The chemical composition of plasma is very similar to that of interstitial fluid in ordinary connective tissue
.
All connective tissue consists of cells embedded in a matrix that consists of ground substance and fibers. Blood may thus be described as connective tissuewhose matrix consists of free-flowing ground substance (plasma) with no fibers.
just thinking out loud becauseof some things my elder brother has said in the past.
how his works help ensure his future w/the great crowd on earth.. .
well, i need jesus for my salvation, but perhaps some of you do not.. just asking.
But you will never hear a JW praising Jesus.
If they do, this will result in the JW getting plastered with the "apostate" label faster than almost anything else (except questioning the GB).
JWs get noticably uncomfortable when a JW brother talks too much about Jesus.
Here is the true savior for JWs:
"We can enter into Jehovah’s rest — or join him in his rest — by obediently working in harmony with his advancing purpose as it is revealed to us through his organization." --W 7/15/11, p.28
"To ensure their salvation... it will be just as imperative that we follow the leadings of the holy spirit and obey Jehovah’s instructions through his organization." --W 9/15/91, p.17
"To understand the Bible for their salvation they had to have it explained through God’s organization". --W 11/15/61, p.692
"If we are to have Jehovah’s favor and blessing as individuals, we must support his organization and accept adjustments in our understanding of the Scriptures." -- W 5/15/14, p.29
"Thus the Bible is an organizationalbook and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind." Watchtower 1967 Oct 1 p.587

as wacky as CT Russell was, at least he got this right:
> "We always refuse to be called by any other name than that of our Head --Christians--continually claiming that their can be no division among those continually led by his Spirit and example as made known through his Word." -- Zion’s Watch Tower 1883 Mar p.6
> "The endeavor to compel all men to think alike on all subjects, culminated in the great apostasy; The union of the early church, based upon the simple gospel and bound only by love, gave place to the bondage of the Church of Rome a slavery of God's children, from the degradation of which multitudes are still weak and suffering" -- Zion's Watch Tower 1893 Sep p.264
> "We belong to no earthly organization; hence, if you should name the entire list of sects, we should answer, No, to each and to all. We adhere only to that heavenly organization- "whose names are written in heaven." (Heb. 12 :23; Luke 10: 20.) All the saints now living, or that have lived during this age, belonged to OUR CHURCH ORGANIZATION: such are all ONE Church, and there is NO OTHER recognized by the Lord. Hence any earthly organization which in the least interferes with this-union of saints is contrary to the teachings of Scripture and opposed to the Lord's will-"that they may be ONE." --W 2/1884, pp.1,2
