ASAP!!!! Need HELP!!!!

i'm meeting with a friend in about an hour and she said she will let me show her things about wt.

i can't say the whole story right now because of time...but i have a copy of a wt saying how "jehovah will not let false prophecy's come true..." from the may 1st 97 wt.. i don't have a wt library so i can't look up the info.

i know there are wt articles saying the end was coming in 1975 and also certain times from like the 20's.

The false dates/false prophecies started with Russell, so there is a lot more that can be said on this subject.

The WT claims it never made any definitive prophecies about 1914, 1925 or 1975. If that is so, then why did huge numbers of JWs leave the Org. when these dates passed without anything happening? JWs have no way to speculate on dates then print literature by the millions promoting their views; only the WT Society can do this. Any group-think regarding dates could only come from the source inventing the ideas- the WT.

The predictions for 1925 and 1975 don't even get a mention! Talk about rewriting history to gullible young converts!]

I once listened to a brother relate his experience at a Circuit Assembly.

He wanted to Pioneer, so prayed to Jehovah for assistance. The brother then began a systematic disassembly of his entire life in order to Pioneer. He quit his well-paying job as a mortgage banker and got a part-time job; he sold his very nice home and moved into a dump; he liquidated most of his belongings, including things he really loved and made him happy.

This process took SEVEN years ! SEVEN years! Not only did it take SEVEN years to reach his goal with the help of the most powerful person in the Universe, but his life was now a shell of it's former self. The brother had to do ALL of the work- selling all that he owned , quitting his job, finding a different home, etc. He went from having a substantial income to living on very little; from being self-sufficient to depending on others; from security to no security.

All with the help of God. He certainly does "open the floodgates of Heaven".

Guess what? If he wanted to Pioneer but didn't pray about it, the result would've been exactly the same! It still would've taken seven years and him doing all the work.

Prayer: the alternative to actually doing something.

Prayer: the request to God to suspend the laws of the Universe in order to help only you.

Prayer: acknowledgement that you're unhappy with the way God is doing things so far and you're requesting he do things differently.

If "God's Will" is the ultimate goal then why pray about anything? If God wants something to happen, pray all you want, it won't change the outcome; if God does not want something to happen, pray all you want, it won't change the outcome.

Ultimately, whatever you pray for, YOU are the one that will have to do the leg work to make it happen. If you pray and do nothing, you'll get....nothing. Why not just cut out the middle man and get on with it?

Was God using inches as a fraction of todays distance between those places or how it was 500 years ago ?

Good question.

An even better question is: are these chronologies supposed to be calculated by a lunar calendar (in use when these "prophecies" were recorded), of 360 days a year or by the solar calendar of 365 days a year. The modern Gregorian calendar (which we use) wasn't invented until the 17 th century, so the Bible timelines cannot possibly be correlated in stright line counting.

607 BCE does not lead to 1914- no matter how you count it.

it all seems so playful and cutsie wootsie to an insider i suppose, i am seeing posts all over facebook about how this is just what my kid needs.. this is truly proper food at the proper time blah blah blah blomit blomit vomit vomit... the funniest part is however is that it cuts out at the end by saying "let's practice what you are going to say".. .

why not make the video longer and discuss how you can get an idea for a 6 year old on how to talk to a grown person about how they are going to die unless you study the bible with me..

Why would you need more than the bible to go out in service?

What would a JW do without a WT publication to present?

Going out with just a Bible is not looked on in a favorable way by WT. Ray Franz alludes to this in ISOCF. Reports got back to Brooklyn that some JWs were going door-to-door with only their Bible. This upset the GB. They stated that a JW's primary goal is placing literature, not Bible education, and that trend (Bible only) must be stopped immediately.
