  Elder: I threw out all WT & Awake and only keep the last ten years...

  i had a recent conversation with an elder from my mother's congregation.

  he with another elder was at my mom's house.

  my mother has all the bound volumes for both the awake and watchtower plus most of the older books.

  The Society is no longer printing hardcover books.

  letter read that the society will no longer be making hardcover books.

  also the told people to not place orders for daily texts or calendars if they had the ability to download these.

  who downloads a calendar?

  watchtower 1974p.167 "...by over indulging in food....he fails to show love for jehovah god...is food a big thing in his life?

  Bodybuilding

  I had started to do muscle exercises so as to have a good physical appearance. I began to take hormones to develop faster (a common thing among weight lifters). I trained four hours a day. But as I developed physically, I became stationary mentally. Then I read that article (“Young People Ask . . . Should I Go In For Bodybuilding?” December 22, 1986). I never thought I would give up that sport, but now I realize the need to build my mind and not just my body. So I have given it up. Thank you very much.

  Awake 1973 banned Witnesses playing Chess..why?

  are all articles from jehovahs thoughts or do personal biased views poison the watchtower articles?

  imagine a brother who hates chess observing in discust two bethelites playing chess...would it be right to use jehovahs "spiritual food" to push your own warped view....yes!!.

  awake 1973 3/22 p.12 chess- "...the spirit of compitition between players can lead to unplesant circumstances...most families can keep comfrontations to the chess board...but for some the tension lingers long past checkmate...chess has been a game of war since its origin...a play substitute for the art of war...there is a danger of "stirring up compitition with one another" even developing hostility towards one another, something the bible warns christians to avoid..what effect does playing chess have apoun one?

  Because WT has an opinion on everything and that opinion will change frequently as it goes through its mood swings.

  Essentially it boils down to this: whatever brings a person even a small measure of happiness, even something as pedestrian as chess, WT will find a way to suck the life right out of it.
