wow, shaking my head
by Hortensia inmy neighbor told me she had been talking about me recently.
"i was saying to carrie in the office i just don't see how anyone can deny the existence of a higher power.
she needed some q-tips, and found a box of them on the free table by the office.

Changed: Head coverings for sisters, w15 2/15 QFR
by wifibandit indoes a female kingdom publisher need to wear a head covering if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher?.
in a questions from readers item published in the watchtower of july 15, 2002, it was stated that a sister should cover her head if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher, whether he is baptized or not.
further consideration of the matter suggests that a modification to this direction is appropriate.. if the male publisher who accompanies the sister while she conducts an established bible study is baptized, the sister would certainly want to wear a head covering.

She thus shows respect for Jehovah’s arrangement of headship within the Christian congregation because she is fulfilling a role that would normally be the responsibility of the brother.
Of course, this completely ignores the fact that all Christians are charged with the task of teaching, not just men. So, a woman is not filling a role "that would normally be the responsibility of the brother". Furthermore, since when does a Bible study in a student's home qualify as "within" the congregation??
Idiotic WT legalism and minutiae...

On the other hand, if a sister is accompanied on an established Bible study by an unbaptized male publisher who is not her husband, she would not Scripturally be required to wear a head covering
...and it is the third Tuesday in and odd-numbered month, the unbaptized male publisher was born in an even-numbered month, the air temperature is between 68.5-73.3 degrees F, the male publisher has never even considered wearing tight pants, and both the student and unbaptized male are vegans.
In that case, please contact Watchtower Legal Dept. for further direction.

"It happens to me all the time. When I need something, it appears. It's because there IS a higher power."
Too bad the extent of god's impressiveness comes only from providing Q-tips for one lucky individual. How does this nitwit explain god's apathy about starving children and cancer?

God is not genocidal
by mistified inso at the meeting a few weeks ago the speaker was having a talk about inactive people and then he went on about how people think the god of the old testament was cruel and genocidal.
he then said that god and did not commit genocide because everything he did was for a reason.
i was shocked at how stupid that saying was.

My Parents have gone FULL CULT MODE! Having a job is SATANIC!
by BU2B into give a little background, my parents are in their late 50s.
around a year ago, my elder dad got laid off from his job.
he worked as a auto mechanic making ok money.
-

He told me that he feels it is THE DEVIL offering him this job
Ironically, "Satan" seems to be the only one helping a person (JW or non-JW) to better themselves. All Jehovah seems to offer is unemployment and unfulfilled hopes and dreams.
JWs sure love their do-nothing god.

Zoned Visit: Who's Calling Who Bloodguilty?
by breakfast of champions inso at the zoned visit, tough tony remarked how inactive ones had "blood on their hands" for not warning the unsuspecting inhabitants of earth of their impending doom at armageddon.
could it be true that the society is at least equally bloodguilty for the same offense?.
if there was one way watchtower could warn the entire inhabited earth of their sudden destruction all at once, it would certainly be on the internet.. and the perfect opportunity to warn the entire inhabited earth of the impending destruction would be to answer a "frequently answered question" in an honest and forthright manner.

So you have the absolute perfect opportunity to warn the entire friggin world that they are about to perish unless they become a JW
Additionally, I didn't see any advertisements at all (Internet or otherwise) where the WT announced to the world that the Governing Body is the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
Since WT teaches that a person must identify that Slave, then support it, in order to gain life, it seems to me that's fairly important information.
Yet another WT fail.

Nov 2014 KM - a text message counts as a return visit!
by EndofMysteries inif you don't know, km's are now online too.
under the heading, "i cannot find him at home again!
" it mentions how a text message or email is to be counted as a return visit.

Shirley: what difference does it make to us- *the ones who already know it is a futile endeavor*if the methods are ineffective. We are not doing it. We know lives are not at stake.
The effectiveness of the methods, or lack thereof, is not the issue. The point is, JWs are trapped in a system of man-made rules that enslave them to a schedule and lifestyle they may not necessarily agree with but abide by under compulsion/duress in order to comply with the demands of their leaders. While lives are not at stake, as you correctly pointed out, lives are being wasted. And, many here still have family and close friends in the WT Org, and it is painful to watch them waste their lives in futile endeavors.
It makes me livid to watch my still-in family members donate money they cannot afford to donate, and spend what little time and energy they have serving WT's interests, not their own. They put health, dreams and happiness aside because they have been convinced by WT that that is what God requires them to do. That's why I care.
It is bad enough that WT demands people's vital energy and lives...but made so much worse that the same energy and life is being spent on increasingly absurd levels of ineffective triviality and "busy work".
what choice do they have
You said it. When a person no longer has a choice, then they are a slave. I, for one, am not a fan of slavery. That's my answer to your query, "what difference does it make to us?"

I HATE vets
by Xanthippe intook one of my cats to the vet two weeks ago, she gets dermatitis from flea bites and although she gats flea treatment every four weeks the skin problem flares up about every two years.
so i asked for her usual steroid tablets which clear it up in about a week but no this young vet about 25 thought she should have a steroid injection and an antibiotic.
didn't work and she's much worse.. went back today and another vet said can't give you the tablets because the injection is still in her system and lasts 6 weeks.

I don't hate Vettes but I much prefer something like a 1967 Camaro RS/SS.
