  What would be your reaction if the original ten commandments were found written in hieroglyphic

  according to historians, the hebrew language came at a later date and there is strong evidence to support that the original writtings of moses were destroyed and and was re-writen by ezra.. remember that the account explains that moses became part of the egyption royal family, did he learn the arts of horus and others, the same with aaron, why was aaron quick to make a golden calf?

  why did the people wanted to become like gods, and why when moses found out made them drink the golden calf?.

  1 when the people saw that moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around aaron and said, come, make us gods[a] who will go before us.

  i stumbled across this today and found it rather interesting.

  espescially as there is sometimes controversy over the nisan 14 date.. paschal full moon.. refers to the ecclesiastical full moon of the northern spring to determine the date of easter.

  a full moon is a lunar phase that occurs when the moon is on the opposite side of the earth from the sun.. the moon is in opposition with the sun.. babylonian astronomy.. according to asger asaboe - the origins of western astronomy can be found in mesopotamia and all western efforts in the exact sciences are descendants in direct line from the work of the babylonian astronomers.. chaldeans were the astronomers of mesopotamia, who were, in reality, priest scribes specialising in astronomy and other forms of divination.

  I was trying to pin down the Astrology aspect, and how it contradicts what WT, as they are supposed to stay away from these things.

  The most important day of the year. Sometimes. Sort of.

  for jehovah's witnesses, the "most important day of the year" is supposed to be the 'memorial'.

  this 'sacred' event is to be held after sunset on nisan 14. except most of the time, it isn't.. as 'explained' in the watchtower, 1 february 1976, page 73, the "governing body" (not capitalised at the time) takes it upon itself to 'determine' the 'actual' date of nisan 14. they claimed in the article that the 'modern' date for the start of nisan in the hebrew calendar is calculated differently to the ancient calculation.

  however, that's not actually the case.. the actual calendation for determining the start of nisan was (since at least the neo-babylonian period) and is based on the metonic cycle - a sequence that repeats every 19 years.. in the metonic cycle, the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 19th years have an extra (thirteenth) month (adar ii, or veadar).

  Proof of Noah's Flood - Presently watching a Documentary about Europe & the Ice Age

  first time i ever heard anyone say there was 'proof' of noah's flood.. very interesting,.

  showed a trawler, where the team dredges regularly in the north sea - for animal bones, massive land animal bones, mammoths.. he said, originally, the bones were sent for analysis, and the dr stated, they were proof of noah's flood.. the north sea area was a land mass of dry grazing lands.

  and it was very similar to africa.. many bones were found in london, of lions, hippos, etc ... when they were digging out the underground.. .

  It is not a case of being a flood believer, or God believer as you athesit so succintly put your arguement, all of the time, then ricicule everyone else, therfore stifling discussion, gosh, watch out, the wt lurkers might think ye are demon princes, just as wt says.

  Oh, you want to talk about the flood story. Which is how many thousands of years old and is ingrained in the cultures, stories and traditions of how many countries around the world.

  Ah now, we are educated scientists, and what we say goes, if you don't agree with us, or dare to express or share or discuss your thoughts or potrential beliefs on a Biblical subject, hell no, we can't possibly have people trying to rescue some remnant of faith and humanity and belief that there may be more to this story, or myth, can't have that now, us atheists have to make robots of everybody and force them to join us.
