i have been visiting this site for almost a year, and i have found it very useful.
there was a post on a facebook group last night about jw visits and to be nice when they call at your door.
so, after about 100 posts, i posted a link to this website.
hi and welcome .. i'm new too.
cripes to think only a few weeks ago i had them on my facebook and used to visit them all the time ... trying to stay faithful and focused... lol. some of the peeps do come across as so brainwashed and a bit nutty even i used to cringe.
and they are all so certain that 2014 IS IT...... knowing what i have now learned about 1975 and a lot of other stuff. it's going to be very interesting.
the past few eeks have been... an eperience like no other.. lol
do you hold god accountable for the corruption of the borg?
i've noticed there seems to be a bitterness, by some, that includes "god" in the equation, when discussing the borg and their policies, the governing body, elders actions, etc.
do the borg's transgressions originate with god, or does he feel the same disgust as we do?

No I don't. No more than I blame him for all the other religions that have done same. Men are corruptable, in EVERY walk of life, after all isn't that part of the message. If HE has stepped back from mankind after sending Jesus and is letting mankinds course run along until the desired time, then these things are just part and parcel of sinful man and the machinations of the Devil, if a person believes.
I get what your saying about the sense of bitterness and agree. But I guess it is to be expected as humans hurt and it can take time to repair the hurt. Some people have suffered terribly. Like wise people have suffered terribly in their lives where Reigion has had no part. The RC Church was so powerful and I see the similarities. But is has lost it's power and the truth is out. The abuse, institutions, laundries, child slavery, etc. Terrible things.
The truth will out as they say. A believer can still believe in God etc without being tied to an organisation. But I think the power the borg has taken and used to control so many people is the abuse of mans spiritual needs and beliefs.
Has the TRUTH been hijacked. That's what some of us are trying to figure out and come to terms with and what next. Not easy as believer.

thanks for your input. I am very cautious at the moment due to the huge amount of information I have had to take in concerning TTATT. i didn't want to get drawn down another avenue of WT propaganda.
I do and have always researched, read lots of wide ranging subjects diff beliefs, theories etc. Not just WT, which is how I came to learn about these sites and I appreciate the stories and experiences of others.

he decided to take me somewhere nice in the country for a day instead, and when he suggested it last night i was amazed that he would have even thought of missing the meeting!
he was one of those guys who only missed a meeting, literally, if he had a spinal injury and couldn't move!.
but, i've been sharing a little of the ttatt with him, teensy tiny bits that i can substantiate from the bible or other reputable sources.

Once he can settle it in his head he not apostate and his relationship with God/jesus beliefs are not affected he will start to feel relieved and a lot better. This is helping me get through it.
Didn't they (leaders) actually say the same thing about Jesus.

i have heard this jw argument before which explains away some of the scriptures alluding to everyone going to heaven but i was on jwfacts, 144,000 section and saw that belief no where in there.

the number of partaking at the memorial is increasiong.
the usual explanaition is, that the new partaking anointed ones are replacements for the "unfaithfull" previous anionted.. what is confusing me, ... looking at the numbers of newly partaking each year .... , to see how many former anointed ones must have proved uinfaithful .... over 10% each year????

for example, they pride themselves in what they don't believe such as immortal souls, the trinity, hellfire, etc.. some exjws still believe it is the "truth" and support the basics.. .

sure why not. Taking a positive - like, i'm grateful for all the time I put in studying bout Bible etc and learning about all that stuff. the theme, the message.
I love it, really I do. But now i don't have guilt, fears or worry as I am finding out truths, doesn't mean everything wasn't true. Jesus says we're in the last days, so we don't know exactly some details, he told us noone knows, not even him. Now i'm not stressed about when it will happen, cos date/time not important.
My eyes have been opened, I'm no longer captive to the org/cult/brainwashing/control whatever you want to call it.
I have peace of mind. It's brilliant. But I still believe there is some truth to it all.
Great thing is, I can't be called apostate - so I am proving WT wrong to all the faithful JW's - if only they knew.
maybe some interested ones questioning/looking will read this and it will help. I sure hope it does.
