  before she can though she needs my dad to admit to adultary.

  they've been divorced for years but he has never remarried and has no plans too.. she says she's in love with a widowed brother but before they go any further she wants to be scriptually free.

  she called my dad and asked him if he would help her out and he laughed and hung up the phone.

  Thanks for the comments everybody. Dad said she has e-mailed him 2 really long ranting e-mails in the last 24 hours. She sent me an e-mail asking for his yahoo or MSN ID. She has also contacted my 2 brothers. She asked my older brother when we went on vacation to Hawaii did dad share a room with a woman. She's going to drive us all crazy.

  Instead of hastling her own family she should be hastling her local elders. My dad has been in several relationships. Mom even met his last GF at my brothers wedding last year. You would think this would be enough but the elders need more. What a joke.

  I laughed at the suggestion at her hiring a PI. I don't think she can afford it. She could always go to his ex GF's to get the dirt. He's friends with most of them so she might not get much cooperation.

  JT your story cracked me up. I think he would love to be harassed by the local body of elders so he could threaten to sue them. I don't see it happening though.

  She has made my dads life hell and has done some very hurtful things to my siblings and I all in the name of her religion. I know I must sound heartless by not wanting to help her out but I just don't have it in me. I truly feel I owe her nothing. It's not me or dad that is keeping her from being "free" its her religion.

  Did I forget to mention that he was never a witness....? Just an opposer. Mom left him because he was a "danger" to her spiritually.

  If the mother wants to dance to Bethel's tune, then this is the price she pays.

She called me today on the phone crying telling me because of my dad she will spend the rest of her life alone and if I would talk him into admitting adultary. She asked him sometime back about this but this was before she started "dating" this brother. She says they go out in FS and sit together at meetings. How romantic. They have discussed wanting a relationship and eventually getting married.

  The brother she wants to marry is an asshole. He's an elder. Enough said. His adult children are assholes as well.

  She has a hell of a lot of nerve coming to me for this. For one its not my place to ask my dad such questions and 2 I owe that woman nothing and neither does my dad.

  I was talking with him earlier and he wonders what lengths she will go to to prove that he has been with other women. My dad is a very private person and does not share a lot about his love life with his kids which I am very grateful for. lol Currently he is not involved with anyone. It should get interesting.

  I told her if she was a worldly heathen like the rest of us she would not be encountering such problems now. I don't know how anybody in their right mind could follow those stupid damn rules.

  cell phones for kids?

  i have a lovely 12 year old daughter who is a very good kid.

  she has been asking for her own cell phone because all of her friends have one.

  my wife and i have been resisting giving her one because we think it is too extravegant an item for her"who do you have to call"?

  My dad got me a cell phone when I turned 14. I still have it some where. It's so ulgy looking compared to the ones that are available now. He got detailed listing so he could keep track of all the incoming and outgoing calls. If I went over the minutes then he would take the money out of my allowance. I learned real quick not to go over. In this day and age I would not be to worried about a 12 year old having a cell phone since its so easy to keep track of who calls. My sister got my 11 year old neice a pre-paid cell phone so she could call her when she needed picked up from practice and sporting events.

  The WTS has it in for the band Guns N Roses. They use to be one of my favorite bands and I refused to stop listening to them and they gave a special needs talk about listening to such bands. I was flattered they gave a special needs talk just for me.

  what defines your life now?

  as a jehovahs witness, our lives were clearly "defined".

  for those of us who are no longer in the "truth", what "drives" your life now?.

  for me, it is my kids ( 12, 9, 4--busy--busy--busy) ; my wife; my career; i live by my own personal value system ( tried, tested and working).. the absence of the superimposed restrictive grid of the jw lifestyle has allowed my life to blossom.

  what defines your life now?

  My job and finishing up school. I use to have this thing called a social life but I just don't have time for one anymore. I have lunch on Tues. with my dad and if possible I try and catch up with the rest of my family and friends on weekends that is if I have one free. I like my lifestyle though.

  do y'all get road rage?

  i'm considered to be very laid back but today i could have easily knocked someone on the nose for nearly causing a car accident that could have injured quite a few people, i wanted to hit the roof, perhaps its my first experience with road rage.

  (or maybe the meds were wearing off...lol).. do you get it or have you been a victim?.

  Several dubs have applied for jobs where I work. There have been times when I've had to screen the applicants and make recommendations to my boss. Only one so far has managed to get past me to the final interview. She was very experienced and did not make silly requests like wanting time off on Wed. morning for FS. Everybody is very happy with her work and she does not witness. I hope she sticks around.

  I went back and read the whole thread. I to agree that you have already made up your mind on the dub but I have one suggestion.....get a prenuptial agreement to protect your assets should the two of you decide to get married. Good luck getting her to sign one.
