Ah ha. Thank you. So they are making this a really big friggin deal. My old Assembly Hall holds assemblies every weekend. There is no way that even a fraction of the congregation publishers can attend.

I do miss giving talks. Not the attention. To know that I was a welcome relief from the usual 45 minutes of mind-numbing boredom was reward enough.
I hated most Public Talks and was determined that mine were not going to be of that sort.

Missionaries to vacate all missionary homes
by seenitall inlatest news from a source (missionary in foreign land):.
no more missionary homes anywhere in the world.. all missionaries presently in missionary homes must vacate.
must get housing on your own / from the locals.. circuit and district overseers have moved into many of these former missionary homes.. reasons: liability, cost savings, real estate to be sold or used for other purposes.. needless to say, many of these longtime servants are very unsettled.

Unbelieveable. This is serious. The WT is giving up, or caving in. Many of these missionaries live with the barest of necessities. And now many will live without running water or electricity. Let's see how long this lasts.

No bibles at any kingdomhalls, strong rumors the annual meeting is regarding the bible...
by EndofMysteries infrom relatives and contacts in 2 states, there have been no bibles available for a couple months.
one person mentioned to me as well about supposed quotes in the magazines from other bibles.
rumors are that they will announce a new bible, or possibly tell everyone to buy a bible from another place that they approve of.

Scarcity creates a (false) sense of value. NO NWT anywhere is a WT game to make sure they get the maximun $contribution for each Bible.
Think about it, you have 50 rolls of toilet paper. Do you conserve or value it? How about when there are 10 squares left on the last roll? aka...no NWT anywhere. The friends will contribute when it is released.

2. Arkady! Don't fool around with your health and teeth. You can probably find dentists anywhere that will fill or pull even perfectly good teeth. But you want one filled that will likely have to be pulled in the future anyway. Your choice of course. I am sure there are dentists that will do it, but being a JW dentist has no relevance. JWs do not have a teaching related to teeth pulling. The dentists you have contacted so far seem to be giving you good advice.
1. Steer clear my friend. JWs have all the answers to all questions. All answers come the Governing Body at headquarters and are not open to review or questioning. Is that what you want?

I remember the first time we had a Special Assembly Day. One of the annual Circuit Assemblies had been discontinued and the SAD took its place. Anyway, we all went to the same location as the CA had been. not knowing what this special day was about. Our cong went thinking it would be maybe a 2-hour meeting. There had been absolutely no information about it except for start time. We had no idea this thing would go on for hours and hours. Oh no! 5 hours as I recall. We were starving and when we left. The last 3 hours of the program were lost on everyone.

Feeling Sick

that is the same age i got baptized....as we all know it just should not be allowed.
if a child is not mature enough in other areas of life how can they be mature enough to commit their lives to the borg?

I am so sorry to hear it FreeGirl. Maybe, just maybe, you can maintain close ties with her so as to be a real support to her when she is in her mid teens and going trhough H trying to live up to the Borgs requirements.
