i just have a question about my personal congregation file.
recently i made a request to the elders to return my personal file but i haven't heard a whisper from the elders and its been months so i wrote them again this time with a time frame of 14 days and its now been over a month and still no response.
Your B inlaw has no legal basis in a court because you send him an email. Just make sure that the email is professional and courteous. From the Org's perspective, he is an elder and you are supposoed to contact an elder with any Org related business. Is he just thick? You wouldn't want to appear as deliberately trying to annoy him.
How do you know that you have congregation file other than a publisher record card? What would you want to accomplish by legal action? I don't see it.
is it really true that jw children get gifts 'all through the year', not just for christmas and birthdays like non- jw kids?
as stingy as most jws are, i find that very hard to believe.
plus the childhood magic of christmas and birthdays is totally absent in jw households.

i have a background in commercial construction and this seems pretty high to me, considering all the free labor.
that is just the cost of the building, excluding the lot price.
One more thing! When we had a KHall build managed by the RBC in the early 1990s, someone delivered a sandblasted relief sign for the KH front.
We never asked for it and had no idea it was coming. Bill $650 back in 1991.

Snare and racket is correct about the CO coming through and telling the local elders that their KH is not up to par and that a rebuild or refurbish is needed. The CO then writes this in his report to the WT.
The local elders shrug their shoulders and figure that they are behind the times and need to get with the program. They are instructed to pitch the rebuild to the congregation.
When the congregation hears the "recommendation" and are asked to vote on the proposal, they do what all good sheep do and vote positive.

reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..
I am inclined to go along with Phizzy. This is a high control religion. Without the COs, who are in essence direct employees of the Corporation, the Society would lose it front-line enforcers. A visting elder from another congregation would not fit the bill.
COs and DOs are, in my humble opinion, simply the cost of doing business. I think that the Society directors recognize this and realize that to do away with the CO/DO representatives they would immediately lose control of the congregations.

It was the Circuit level elder meetings that let me know the Org was a scam. A bunch of arrogant brothers in the lead using thinly veiled catch phrases to describe Circuit finances and to make announcements to "the friends" about contributions to the WT Society, costs of putting on the assembly and so forth.
i've seldomly seen it happen.
they practically have to cheat on their wife or something before anything can be done.
the "brother" can act like a total dick, show favortism towards others (especially includes appointed certain brother they like as elder and ones they don't like they ignore them no matter how well they qualify), selectively enforce rules on certain ones and ignore them when their buddies are involved.
It is hard to get a pompous, self-righteous, prick elder removed.
The easiest way. Have his teenaged kid get into some judicial trouble, or have someone to inflate what his teenaged kid is doing. Then ask the kid if his dad is having a regular family study with him.
Get the elder's name in the newspaper for some negative activity like late payment of taxes.
Get yourself known for some negative activity and then say that the elder does this very thing. Talking up boxing, WWF events, MMA on Spike TV. Then write the Society and ask if there is a separate set of rules for elders and complain that you were disciplined by the elders when Brother Elder does the same thing.
an elder in my congregation got on my nerves because he kept putting his arm around me and i'd asked him to stop.
a few weeks later he did the same thing again so i used my knee against his micro-penis.
a judicial committee was formed even though i was being sexually harrassed by this octapus of an elder.
The writer did not say that they were DFd, only that a committee was formed. Maybe the elder was chastised? The writer does not say. And we don't know what is meant by "he kept on" although it does not sound good.

Now then about your elders. What kind of morons are they to assign you as a WT reader, up on the platform representing as they say, and yet you what you are reading for everyone's benefit you do not follow. I applaud you for getting an education. I just cannot fathom the elder's thinking on this.
