i have to admit i never really thought about this question until one of my classmates challenged me with this very question.
she made an excellant point and i have to admit i am asking myself the same question does jehovah enjoy watching people suffer.
the case she brought up was the flood story.
If good exist, he will have a lot to explain when he comes back. Remember how he punished his first couple. "The women will hereafter give birth in pain!!
Ingersoll said : "who could love a father that drown his own children."
And I am saying :what child could love a father that beats them, kill them, hurts them, bring them deaseses, and promise (according to GB) that he will kill them all in fire and thunderstorms if thay dont do as he says? No one will servive, according to WT.
I think it is much better if he does not exist.

wow, where does the time go?
i'm scared of reaching this number, and yet i'm so close.. what is your health secrets?
what do you do for stress releif?
I am well over 60. And I am sad to say that my health is not very god (several hartattacks-lots of tuff medicine). But still the last years has been much better since I quitted been a JW;s. I feel free to on my own way understand the world. Reading books, discusse with intelligent people, subjecs that really concern me. My children is grown up and I have no responsability, to teach them stupid teachings. None of them are JW.s. I feel that I am free in mind and spirit and this is much better then just having a healthy body. Sex - no way with my hart and medicine, But I still love my JW (100%) wife, despite our different way in understanding the world. I think my wife, still in the Borg, has much greater problems with her famiily then me. SHe would be a great more free and happy, not beeing forced ta attent stupid meetings and field service.

jdubs are fond of quoting peter "where are we to go lord"... well the answer for me has been this forum for last couple of years which is really sad because i should be able to talk to my lifelong friends instead of faceless avatars.
( don't get me wrong this place has helped me through some really rough times mentally kudos to terry, cedars, slimboyfat, blondie, jwfacts and many others.).
the shun gun has prevented me from making the move completely out of this cult i have given my life to.
Hi there!
I was in exactly the same sit. for about 15 years ago. I just decided to become inactive, for a few years I kept on attending some meetings, but stopped even that. Many elders and CO has been visiting me during the years, but I think by now they understand that they lost another member. Luckely enogh I managed to keep my 6 children out of the cult, by insisting on their proper education. Still, my wife is a hard core JW:s. But today she´s the one that have truobles. I.am free, but feel sorry for her, not beeing able to bring me to any meetings at all. She also of course feel saad about "loosing all her children to Satan. What a wicked religion.

so i was talking to a substitute co, he and his wife recently returned from "the school for christian couples" .
anyways this couple has delayed having children in hopes of entering the circuit work, and have been sub coing for a couple years.
they both have well paying, good jobs.
In history you will find tousands of people sacrificing not only their fortunes, homes and relatives, becoming moncs nuns and and living "in the wilderness" eating worms and grasshoppers. Many of them did that for religious reasons. The sad thing is that many of them believed in a priest, a pope or a GB. And these "besserwisser" only sucked them out and speated them out when they no longer could serve them. In fact beeing one of the first christians in the roman empire, was very, very dangeous. You could expect loosing you life...
So today the story goes on and on and on
Religious belives makes you blind and very irrational

Iám not a lady, but I can tell you at least there is one thing good with the Theocratic school, everyone who attends for a few years does got a rather good skills in public talking. I quited 10-15 years ago, and after that I got jobs that included much public talking. These jobs would never been offered to me if I hadn´t been trained in TeoSc. In fact the very first "speach" I gave was in KH. I was so nervous that I totally blancked out and went back to my seat saying absolutely nothing. But after a few years training I was able even to held speaches for people numered to over 6000. The only sad thing is that my manuscript was written by the Watcht. org. And that 6000 people had to listen to su much crap..

i was doing some research on the subject of beliefs and belief systems when i came across an on-line survey/test that supposedly helps you determine which religion or philosophy is most like your current beliefs.
if you're curious, you can take the quiz here: belief system selector quizafter answering the 20 questions the results were spit out!
tada!!!.
Interesting test and confirming what I already had a hunch about Secular humanist here,
JW last down on the list

How True you are talking. There is no such thing as the absolute and final truth. All things developes in time and new truth are revealed. The only interesting thing its to keep "on line" and evaluate your thoughts according to your coincensness. Hoping that your parents gave you some basic ideas of etics, moral and humanity.
