  personally, i respect that everyone has choices to believe whatever they want to believe.

  i have no interest in joining another religion....what about you?.

  I think that if you would like to understand the human nature, you should be interested in all religions. In fact a waste majority of humans do confess themselves to some sort of religion. This naturally depending on where you are born or your social environment. I have found an author who lived as a catholic nun for more then 10 years. She wasent sure that her choice was ringth, and therfore started to study the history of all religions. Today she is a professor at Oxford university in religionpsycologi. Her name is Karen Armstrong. She has written many books about her experiencies. I think her books help us understanding why almost all humans confess themselves to all these mad ideas.

  i had an interesting conversation with bobby (*some names have been changed) last weekend.

  he's also a successful fader going back several years before me.

  but i found we had something in common that i hadn't realized.. bobby had never been particularly happy growing up.

  I feel like you, even though I never went to Bethel. But I was an elder (a popular one) in the circuit. I had a wife and 6 children, was constantantly engeged as a speacher. always engaged in DC prep. I run a business with employees, and I was always ON. This til I totally collapsed and was taken to a hospital. On this hospital I slept for a week. After this week a doctor came and sat by my side discussion why this blackout happened.

  I explained my situation. , being a father, being an elder, running a business a.s.f. The doctor said no wunder your brain cut of the information channel. when I brain is loded with so much information and responsibilide, the fuse will broke, or alternative you heart will stop soner or later from a heart attach.

  He said: son, from now on -slow down, skip every not necesseary engagement, do not care on what others expect from you. You have a deep and profound depression, and this will grow even more if you try to comply with other desire.

  Food For Logical Thought...

  sometimes we waste hours and hours debating a subject like the flood, and the impossible scientific and evolutionary consequences that it entails.

  we go into great debates about how all of is is possible, what a "kind" means (species, obviously not)... etc.... but believers will not stop believing... so here is something even a child would think of more logically:if god is all powerful and love why would he have not just made the wicked drop dead, painlessly?

  Education Double Standard

  this is the kind of thing that really burns me.. .

  wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.

  most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).

  "They are simply irritated that others have surpassed them in the education department and this makes them feel inferior. They can't have this so they demonize education and want to drive the educated person away fron them."

  What the GB are fearing the most is people with "humanistic" education, such as History, Archeology, History of Science, Sociology, psyciatric. They also hate people who have from a professional wiev have studied "higher Biblecritisism". Everyone of these people can easily understand that the thesis of the BWTC, that the "wholy scriptures" is the Word of God, its noncence.

  They take the support of their theory, from very old ideas that todays research and science have proven false. And if they meet people with hard scientific facs they realize that their whole business operation are in danger. That is why they do not take part in public debates in media. They only want to speak to people who is nat aware or are undereducatd.

  Now, the atheist on the other hand, answers to no one...

  Now, these words are a grave presumtion. Most atheists I know have very high "humanistic" standards. Meaning that they love human beeings. In fact some socialogist have made essays and large investigation, among people both in the category "religios and or atheistic/agnostic". Facts says that the majority of prisoners have a believe in a higher "power" a creator, a god. While People with Higher education very often (in fact a waste majority) does not belivie in any god. Most terrorists, do their terror raids, and are willing to die, becouse some religios leader, have given them the idea that they will go to heaven and could have sex with numbers of virgins. It seems to me that those who claims to be church leaders, priest, GB, Popes, mullas a.s.f. doeas this mostly for the economical benefits, and to be highest on the social hierachy.

  An atheist on the other hand, if he is active, wants to help people se things clear, and reduce the numbers of religios supersticions, that hurt people.

  i was raised in as a jw, and im still in because of my family.

  since waking up i found meetings, assemblies and fs stressing and thought writing in here might be therapeutic.

  Where has the money gone??????

  after all the real estate sell offs, im confidently sure that the wts must be a flush with cash (well at least for the present time).

  i cant believe how blissfully un-aware the local dubbies are about where the money has gone and what it is been used for.

  so my question is where has all this money gone??

  According to the WTBS ”all spiritual” things is free. But there are always money boxes for contribution spenders in all KH and Convention halls. But the thing is, that all KH, and convention halls and branch offices, are “gifts” from dedicated members and people who free and voluntary offers their labors, minds and money sometimes their whole life. All these building built by congregation members is “handed over” (with papers of ownership) to the large org. WBTS, controlled by 8 men.

  They can whenever they want “cash in” the value (millions of dollar), and spend them on bonds in Cayman Island, or pension funds for themselves. A majority of JW.s don’t realize these facts. Another disturbing fact is that the Society, is registered as a church and aid organis., which make them a non-profitable org. liberated from all taxation according to American law. The GB don´t even have to declare one cent of what they have given away to needed people. No wonder why the GB is so greedy.

  Higher Education

  we have co visit this week.

  its official, after months and months of college bashing including but not limited to the wonderful jeremiah book the co's are hitting it hard with their talks now.

  same as the jeremiah book, higher education sucks and worldy people suck.

  I wonder how many people have had their life destroyed, being unable to take higher education, because of WT doctrines. I have seen so many pioneers, elders, CO, DC, when they become older, being unable to even own a cheap car, depending on other cong. members to drive them out in “the service”, being unable to pay their rent. Depending on “gifts” from other congr. Members. They cannot afford to go to Distr. Convention. Or can they pay medical attention themselves.

  All this because they believed the “word” the end is near 50 years ago. Shouldn´t those responsible for their biblical theories pay them of now? The WBTS, is probably one of the richest estate owner in the world. They have the money to make life easier for our old faithful friends. But they are to grid to let them have a part of that fortune. I smell fraud.

  a customer on my route with whom i have had some lively debates was his number 1 complaint is that "the witnesses have so many rules".

  last month i agreed with on this issue.

  he asked why the change, i told him that i have been doing some soul searching.

  As a father of 6 children and a formerly elder, I can tell you that when the time comes, your child/children will make no use of your Christian indoctrination. Every intelligent creature takes influences from all people including classmates, teachers, other good friends, and then they will decide for themselves what is right or wrong.

  All my children has passed high schools and some of them even University degrees. None of them become a JW, this to their mothers grieves. (This to my relieve). None of them lack moral or etic thoughts (Quite the opposite).

  I think that so called Christian ethics, is very doubtful, and personally I believe that we could have spared us millions of lives and tragedies if we have loosened a little bit of our “Christian” doctrines.

  i was a born-in, and in for over five decades.

  in the comparatively short time since leaving the wt for good, for good in both senses !

  , i feel i have become a very different person, in quite radical ways.. how do you feel you have changed ?.

  I feel like just been broken out of mind jail. There is a fantastic life outthere with so many ideas and thougts that I never have tried before. And I am 67 years of age - finally free!!
