it would seem obvious that a low number of responders to a thread is indicative that the thread is of little or no interest to the other posters on the board.

I am not knocking believers here. i am just knocking the dogmatic belief that "My God is the TRUE God" attitude which then becomes an enabler to allow us to dismiss others who are different than we are or have different opinions because "the don't follow the True God". This is exactly the type of thinking that JWs use when they claim to be "in the Truth" and that all who are not in the Truth are "worldly" and as we know the "World is in the Power of the Wicked One" thus justifying their callous attitude to 99.9% of humanity.

Does God live in a different dimension than us?
If so how can I have a relationship with someone in a different dimension? I can hardly have good relationships with beings in the same dimension as myself.
One uses the term "True God" as opposed to "False God". Can you see the issue with this supposition if we are told we cannot demand proof of the True God but instead we must have faith in the True God and Reject the False Gods? How can we we establish TRUTH without evidence? Truth is the proof of a FACT. Without EVIDENCE there is no fact. So when I must worship the True God I can only do so by having established that God is true and in order to do so we are in need of the evidence. Otherwise it is all a game of chance and according to some a game of probability. Even if it is a game of probability one has to honestly say that probability does not translate to fact - by extension truth. So as a thinking person i cannot subscribe to this mantra.
One needs to step back or aside from ones own framework of thinking and try to observe the framework as an outside critic would. For instance one could ask oneself: do I call God the True God because thats the God I believe in? If you answer no then you just lied to yourself because then you would admit you would worship a false God. Now you might answer that God is giving us freewill. But thats a whole different debate. In essence if believers are honest they would say: "I worship what I think is the True God, but is possibly a False God". That is such a powerful admission isn't it? When you do get around to admitting this to yourself you have moved into the path of growth - even if it is an uncomfortable place to be.

Carmel - I started one on "life is a commodity" and got hardly any responses. This prompted my questioning myself on what I was posting here.

You are right. I don't have any appreciation for Christianity. I have in the past offended Christians and I am sure I will do so again. I wish I could be a Christian though. I wish I could be fulfilled and have the hope that some believers have. I just can't though because it doesn't make sense to me. If this means Christians don't want to read my posts then thats fine - it is a valid explanation; just as I tend not to read too many bible or belief posts on specific verses. This proves my question valid that one of the primary reasons posts aren't responded to is because others have no interest in the subject.

Reckless - thanks for the honest response.
One of the things you said was:
Post those subjects in a science periodical
I understand why people don't want to know the technical stuff related to genetics but the ethical side and the ethical effects seem relevant to a religious board. Again - I want to know where my place is in life and I am looking for friends who share my interests so I would rather people be honest and even blunt with me.

I think I misjudge things quite often - I must be a man, huh?
But still things which I post sometimes seem to be of little interest to others - PS the same occurs in real life where some things I get really excited about discussing seem to be of little or no interest to others. When that happens a person starts to question themselves and their place in the world.
For instance I am fascinated by genetic sciences and the ethos associated therewith and it seems so fascinating to me. But few others seem interested in this subject. I see it having massive effects on the quality of how we live now and the future. I also see it changing peoples value systems away from religion ? yes we will play god. But its either the way I present my points or its just that others aren?t interested in the subjects. When that happens it is healthy to be introspective but it is also healthy to listen to the viewpoints of others and see if I am all wet.
