Yes - just ordered the new Delia Smith book "500 Ways with Vomit - from Appetisers to Desserts"
published by the Weightwatchers Bible & Taccy Society
whenever you read the society's publications regarding "apostates" and those that simply leave the organization, you will see how the watchtower will try to make such ones horrible persons.
they are said to be "rotten, like gangrene, those going back to their vomit".
they are said to re-adopt all of babylon the great's terrible practices.

can anyone tell me the name of the law firm that represents the wts in england ?.
i wonder what law firm jesus would have used
WT England has on its staff lawyers at the branch office - for different matters - property purchase etc solicitors used would be appropriate to the transaction - for other matters solicitors would be appointed as needed - no "retained" firm of solicitors used as far as can be ascertained
- Why do you want to know?
i just got word through the grape vine that i am apostate now... i emailed everyone in my address book the vicki bower thingy and talk is that i'm apostate!.
please fully welcome me into your fold.
the truth sucks.
Any ideas on the career path for an apostate - whats the next step? a moderator on this board? Simon just qualified for his MCAD and you got the IAOA - will you be putting that on your CV - ?
btw congratulations on your new status

being trapped in jw land is a bit like a bad marriage.. when you first get married(baptized) everything is good and happy, the rose coloured glasses effect.. then later on, maybe years down the line, things change or are revealed that alter the contentment of the situation, but by then there is more commitment due maybe to children or shared friends and pastimes so it is difficult if not impossible to extract oneself from it.. to do so risks losing any normal contact with your children, grandchildren and those you thought were your friends.. so many choose to stay in a loveless/violent or broken down marriage (the borg) because the alternative is too awful to cope with.. what other loving religious group controls its members like this and then has the audacity to preach to everyone across the globe that theirs is the true way chosen by god.. anglise
And just like a divorce, when you leave, there is bitterness. I sure found out that. Not from me, but from some who show their true "christian" qualities by lashing out at you for making this choice.
Sad how people fall into camps when a marriage fails "his" "hers" - when the truth fails to hold you any longer it is even sadder that the love quickly turns to hate from those who remain dedicated to their God of Love. Many stick with a bad marriage 'for the childrens sake' - many stick with the truth because they cannot consider any alternative - as if duty is holding them in a trap -or even worse, they face the hostage potential of children/grandchildren who may be left behind . Minor childrens custody is a major issue when a marriage fails - very similar with the truth failing - the WT will fight tooth and nail to prevent you having access to old friends/relatives - sad but it only goes to show "by this you will know them that they have no love among themselves" (to paraphrase the famous verse)
something happened the other night that got me thinking.
i met a christian in one of the local malls and he did the usual preaching about jesus routine, trying to convince me that i am a sinner and how i need jesus and all that jazz.
he wasn't a jw, but rather he was from one of the local revivalist churches.. now what i'm thinking is that i've been out of the org for almost three years now.
yet to watch them practice the shunning and seemingly enjoying it makes me feel pity for them that they actually believe they are behaving this way in the name of their god.
and the name of their God is the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society - problem is their God does not (cannot) answer prayers or bless them instead it efectively surses them with burdens and heavy loads of restrictions (like shunning)
well, the best thing about being a fader is that you can still talk to dubs you meet.
they think they can us the contact to upbuild you and you use it to plant the seeds of 'truth' which is what i did in this situation.. last week when i was at the markets i saw a sister shopping and although i normally avoid dubs, i didn't this time.
i said hello and she was very happy to speak to me.
bliss : Fantastic - nothing hurts like the truth - hope this makes this person think for themselves - sad to read your story and the bad time you had as a JW - make the most of your life now and have a big pat on the back for a job well done!
i took another exam this morning and passed it (despite being destracted from my one night of revision by a programme on 'centrefolds' last night .

do we change our attitude when we get out?
caspian indicated (when he was an active elder over a year ago) how he was working with other like minded elders from within to achieve reform - but like many of us he is now "out" or fading - many others of us thought that change for good could be achieved - have we all moved from that position if we are out - have we given up trying - have we stopped contact with those we though agreed with us - is it easier to just move on?
caspian - do you think that the others you were involved with are still trying to make changes - did you achieve much when you were actively trying to promote decent standards ?
