GB Doesnt Believe in 1914 Anymore My reasoning
by thedepressedsoul ini have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.
this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.
there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

No one at the door ever ask, "So what do JWs believe about 1914?" That never happens. Never.
So it follows that there must be another reason. I like your implied answer: it is WT Leadership damage control. They repeat the doctrine to reinforce the belief among the R&F pretending that it is to help them explain it in the ministry.
The average person is much more interested in Kim Kardashian's butt than they are about the obscure beliefs of a minority religion concerning a date that is ancient history in the minds of most people.

On another note: Is it just me, or is anyone else creeped out that there is even an expression "our beliefs about 1914"?
The clear implication is that all JWs everywhere have exactly the same "beliefs" about the significance of this number.
My thought is this: If all JWs everywhere have the exact same, identical "beliefs about 1914," then why do they need to have a demonstration, seven-minutes or otherwise, on how to explain those beliefs? I mean, seriously, you all have the same "beliefs." Shouldn't all 8-ish million of you be able to explain those "beliefs" without a scripted, verbatim pre-recorded and GB approved demonstration from the WTBTS Headquarters?
I'm just sayin' is all.
