  Good Netflix shows to watch

  in the long winter nights you need some good tv shows to watch while you wait for the eternity between seasons of game of thrones.. we've watched marco polo (pretty good) and have just started watching orange is the new black which is not at all what i imagined (didn't know it was funny!).

  house of cards is on the list too as we've heard good things about that.. anyone have any others that are worth seeing?.

  there jw.org is featuring a slick advertisement for the tour at brooklyn, bethel, of watchtower's museum containing their version of the history of the organization.

  well today the watchtower conductor makes the statement that "the tv.jw.org web site is proof that we have jehovah's blessing because such an endeavor would have been impossible without his help".

  of course that causes all of the bobbing heads in full agreement.

  i wonder what god blessed cbs, abc, and nbc to get up and going and offer their programming?.

  Essentially, it's all an appeal to authority: the Bible and the WTBTS's peculiar interpretation of it.

  A better question is: Can we trust the WTBTS?

  After nearly a century and a half of getting practically nothing right, the answer is clearly a resounding: No!

  I've really been working on improving my writing skills. A couple of days ago I read a suggestion by writing coach Damon Knight to "go and look at some living thing--a bush, a sleeping dog, a spider in her web--and keep looking until you feel you know something about it that you didn't know before."
  

  Since I was in my living room at the time I focused on the tree. I stared at it for several minutes and kept thinking, "Ok, I don't see anything I haven't seen for the last couple of weeks .... This isn't working!" Then it hit me: It wasn't just what I saw, but what it meant! 

  After that "Aha!" moment, it was pretty easy to write my short essay.
  

  I'm glad you appreciate what I wrote. As always, your comments are very encouraging!
