Sorry, I sound bitter. I don't think I am though - I'm hurt to the core..
It does hurt to discover how fragile JW "friendships" really are.
i read here regularly and although i haven't joined in, i really appreciate all the wonderful contributions from those who are willing to share their experiences.... .
i was a convert.
i won't go into the whole history ( perhaps another day) - my story could easily be recognised in the small town where i live, with my husband.. so, we stopped going to the meetings around a period of time when we were going through severe emotional difficulties - at that point, we needed unconditional family love - the hectic, forced jw dinner parties and social occasions gave no real comfort.

for only the second time in internet history, a video recording of a secret jehovah's witness apostasy trial has been published online on the jwstruggle youtube channel.
follow isaac's story here:.

Simon: Who cares if it's the 1st, 2nd, 5th etc? What does that matter?
Exactly!
this makes me fume while i sit listening to this at the sunday beeting.... "hence, an elder who is tenderly compassionate does not try to control the sheep, making rules or using guilt to pressure them to do more when their circumstances do not permit them to.-w15 2/15 pp.
5-9. now this sentence makes the elders sound like they should not control, use guilt to pressure etc... but then it has a qualifying statement no one seems to hear.
when their circumstances do no permit them to.
FMF: great catch.
Let's review: It's a cult!

Why are you overstating the facts, Ray. Using sensationalist, yellow-journalism tactics doesn't help our cause.
so by now most of us have heard about (or watched) the april broadcast and the ridiculous "experience" of the guy that asked god to fix his construction leak before he believed in him..... so, what would you like to "pray that god fixes" in your life??.
humorous or serious replies welcome!
(although sarcastic, cynical and funny replies preferred hehe).
I want God to get his fucking house in order.
What a wanker Jehovah is. He wants from us what he himself will not do.
- - - - - - -
OK, seriously. I don't believe in Jehovah. He clearly does NOT exist. If he did, he certainly wouldn't have these 7 clowns representing him.
If there is a God, can you please clean up this shit?
Seriously. Lots of us are losing faith in you because of these assholes claiming to represent you.
Countless millions of lives have been ruined because of these evil men and their predecessors.
They make you look like a complete fucking idiot. You do know this, don't you?

do you help or is this a woman job?
have you change your ways since.
leaving the borg.
My wife and I have a great relationship.
We split cooking and dishwashing. We both love to cook and we both hate to wash dishes.
We both work full-time, but have different schedules. Whoever goes to work last makes breakfast. That means I make breakfast four days a week and she does it three. On Sunday she brings coffee to bed and makes exquisite love to me. Then she makes breakfast and we read the paper on our back patio. I'm a kept man.
She does all of the laundry. She doesn't even want me to fold my own clothes.
When it comes to other task, we split them on a case-by-case basis.
We do a lot of "home-improvement" jobs together.
She wanted to remodel the downstairs bathroom. She did the faux finishing and I did the carpentry.
I installed a handrail on our stairs by myself.
We are going to build an outdoor kitchen in the next few weeks. I'll assemble the BBQ grill. Together we'll lay the concrete pad and layout the stonework.
She tends the garden, I rake the leaves.
What works for us might not work for you. It's a great relationship for us.
I am an ex-JW. She never was.
i had a discussion with a current jw member of +- 30 years, we got chatting about how you can be sure your faith is right and what checks can be done.
i then suggested looking at ex members view points and literature.
her response was her "i am not someone who takes initiative to look online at stuff, i doesn't feel my personality needs me look at outside view points" in summary she was saying her personality type is not interested in looking at other views.
There is no such thing as the "JW personality."
It's a myth.
greetings from redding calif. my name is bill covert.
i am one of those viet nam war felons for having to refuse communtiy service in lieu of military induction per direct instructions from ny, so i have been around for a while.
i am the writer of the letters mentioned in the human apostate talk of the 2013 conventions.
DD: Could you elaborate on the "human apostate" thing??
That's in contrast to inhuman apostates such as Satan and the demons.
There were some threads on this at the time:
i've been thinking that an effective way to expose the idiocy and vacuousness of jwism is to use it right back on them when they come to your door.
say you're a fader and you've moved to the territory of a different circuit where the jws there don't know your jw background.
when they come knocking at your door, just put on the jw mindset and pretend to yourself that the jws at the door are not jws but members of a "false religion.".
Funny.
Let us know how it goes.
stemming from the 'absentheism' thread, an old question came to my mind.
what exactly is "belief"?.
is it the same to ask: "do you believe in god?
Viviane: Why only one side?
Not just one. I've seen other sides of you before. It's the wild side that's new to me.
You are clearly a woman with many layers and dimensions.
