BW and Xanthippe, it's more than a little weird that you only seemed to read the portion of my post with which you disagree.
I also wrote, "Jung’s work has made some contributions to mainstream psychology."
Making "contributions to" and having "ideas which were important to the development of" does not a coherent, cohesive and comprehensive theory make.
I am aware of and fully understand those valid ideas of Jung's. I'm equally aware of those that have been largely discredited as "pseudo-philosophy" and "New Age mystical speculation."
It is those ideas of the archetype which BW has been espousing and which are non-scientific in nature.
