  The Devouring Mother Archetype(jungian) And the Watchtower Corporation's Self Identification As Mother And Jehovah As Father

  the devouring mother must be always listen to and obeyed it is the negative side of the anima image and it rules over the watchtower corporation.

  jehovah(corporation's imaginary sock puppet) is the father figure with his masculine macho swagger he gains victory over every detractor and his huge narcissistic personality demands exclusive devotion from everyone or it's the death penalty, he suffers from an inflated ego and has a very dark and evil shadow due to denial of his dark nature/satan(scape goat).

  the children or rank and file pee on dedicated members of the corporation must now engage in worthless pursuits to satisfy a mood swinging domineering mother and a murderous self righteous father all the while being shown a very contemptible form of conditional love, accompanied with constant death threat reminders and a carrot on a sting to keep them focused on such and busy with worthless pursuits for a hopeless cause.

  BW and Xanthippe, it's more than a little weird that you only seemed to read the portion of my post with which you disagree.

  I also wrote, "Jung’s work has made some contributions to mainstream psychology."

  Making "contributions to" and having "ideas which were important to the development of" does not a coherent, cohesive and comprehensive theory make.
  

  I am aware of and fully understand those valid ideas of Jung's. I'm equally aware of those that have been largely discredited as "pseudo-philosophy" and "New Age mystical speculation."

  It is those ideas of the archetype which BW has been espousing and which are non-scientific in nature.

  wt is insinuating, worse yet, blaming senior jw parents for there not being more younger brothers reaching out to be ministerial servants and elders.

  page 11 paragraph 9 reads as follows: .

  "elders in affluent lands may face an added challenge: how to motivate baptized brothers in their 20s or 30s to get involved in congregation activities.

  Splash, thanks for the research which shows the WTBTS cannot decide whether they "need" more spiritual men or have "an abundance."

  BrokebackWatchtower, I don't know if you saw my reply to your reference to Jung on another thread (you didn't respond), so I'll repeat it here:

  Although, Jung’s work has made some contributions to mainstream psychology, generally modern psychologists do not employ his ideas into their theories of personality and mind. In particular, they do not give much credence to his theory of archetypes.
  
  Ernest Jones (Freud’s biographer) wrote that Jung “descended into a pseudo-philosophy out of which he never emerged” and to many his ideas look more like New Age mystical speculation than a scientific contribution to psychology.

  A Hummingbird in My House

  we just had a hummingbird in our house!

  it flew in through an open door.

  i had been cleaning my back patio and left the screen open for a few moments when i was putting stuff away.

  We just had a hummingbird in our house! It flew in through an open door. I had been cleaning my back patio and left the screen open for a few moments when I was putting stuff away.
  
  The hummer flew upstairs and into our bedroom. After I discovered where it was, I closed the doors to all the other rooms and tried to shoo it out with a broom. Trying to "herd" a hummer is worse than trying to "herd" cats or teenagers!
  
  I finally had to wait for it to get so tired it passed out grasping a screen on a window. I thought it was dead. It's tiny little claws were still clinging to the screen. Gently as possible, I pried them loose from the screen.
  
  I picked it up, cupping it in both hands, and took it outside. Although it was still warm, it didn't move at all in my hands. But when I opened my hands it flew away!!!

  It was quite an experience to hold a hummingbird in my hands, if even for only a few seconds.

  john hoyle--jws go knocking on strangers doors and try to get inside homes to preach.. wt rep--we are slowly moving away from that kind of preaching work, we do more preaching by using literature carts and personal telephone calls.. .

  Um, just because phrases and sentences end with words that rhyme doesn't meant it's poetry.

  Try working on your meter and rhythm.

  Also, great poetry comes from great subjects. As fun as it is, ridiculing JWs is not a great subject.
  

  I suggest you get a collection of great poetry and read it out loud.

  this is a bizarre story.. there is a woman who is the local leader of the naacp who is obviously trying to mislead people into believing she is black who is actually white.

  very white.. she obviously gets a tan regularly but looks more orange.

  yes, orange really is the new black!.

  This is NOT a recent development. Lett has always been a fool.

  He is more responsible than any other person for my beginning to realize this religion is false.

  Back in the early years of this century he would give talks at our District Conventions. I could not stand to watch him because his style of delivery and mannerisms were just an embarrassment.

  My wife at the time would chastise me for not watching his talks, "You're being disrespectful to the anointed of Jehovah!" she would say.

  I would respond, "Look at him. He's a clown. I can't stand to watch him!" Even though she didn't like what I was saying, she couldn't disagree.

  His buffoonery were instrumental in my realizing that there was no way in hell that any god would choose THAT GUY to represent him.

  That was one of the first loose threads for me. Once I started to pull on it and a few more, the whole thing began to unravel.
