it's march 15th for gods sake i want my spring...i'm sitting here in nashville freezing, can't get out on my motorcycle or anything...
I'm fed up of snow and this horribly long winter. Our first snow fall November 15th stayed on the ground and it won't melt before the end of April, early May.

when i bump into the people who are calling me that name i would like to say something about what apostate actually means but im not very articulate (you may have noticed) one lady has said she will be polite to me but nothing else , im not even an ex dub just an ex study so do i actually qualify for that title in the "land of makebelieve"?
i know that jws think they invented the word apostate !

JW's seem to fear JW's more than God himself.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that God forgives, and JW's don't forgive as easily....
maybe you should.. apparently the reasons some had for leaving had nothing to do with truth or reality or what's factual.. some left because they got discouraged or were offended or felt slighted.. if that's why you left- an unkind word, not being invited to some social function, nepotism in the hierarchy, being overlooked for privileges, annoying personalities, etc.- you're in a very unsettled place.. you'll soon discover that people that aren't jehovah's witnesses can be unkind, lack hospitality, show favortism, and be obnoxious.. then what?.
you'll go crawling back?.
if on the other hand you left because you realize that the extraordinary claims made by the religion are completely without support, you may occasionally miss friends and family lost and reminisce about some random happy memories experienced but most likely never feel tempted to return.. the jw religion, like most any other religion, is full of people that want to be told what to do and what to think.. it's easier that way.. thinking can be exhausting.
It's true that we didn't all leave for the same reason, and although we ended up here, doesn't mean we are all alike.
Atleast here, we are free to talk about or differences.

some smile more than others, but just about everyone seems happy to be there.. maybe we left because we weren't that happy, rather than finding flaws in the religion.. maybe they look happy because they aren't allowed to look sad..

does anyone know if any reasons are given by the wtbts about why they feel it is such an important part of their teachings to keep guessing about dates and the years things are going to happen?
it seems that it adds nothing to whatever they believe about the bible, and it has only served to create such confusion among their members over the years.
They use dates, to keep people scared and present. It's a way of saying, "the end is just around the corner, you have to come to each meeting".

Why do so many people look happy at the Church down the road from my house?
Good comparison, but JW's do so much more and don't live life as fully as those down the street at that church you mention.

Even in my good JW days, I can't say that I was happy to be a JW. I did it because I felt it was the thing to do, since the end was so close and I wanted to live. Well, that's what they taught me... I would have prefered to be elsewhere and live a normal life.
