did you have a pet while being in the jehovah witnesses?
having a 40 hours/week job and going to all my meetings, and being an aux.pioneer, i hardly had any time left for my cat.
i knew many families who also were so busy with that religion, that they had to get rid of their pet.
God didn't create them for martians, did he? If you don't like cats then change your profile picture to a Jackass.

Thats because the O of watchtower is a zero and not a O. replace the zero by O
But, what the hell, don't even try, it's not worth it

november 26 was my birthday.
i missed having people say happy birthday like they do when they know someone here is another year older.. minimus started a thread a while back, when i was here for a few days, about what this board means and if you thought the people here were your friends.
i've been here a while, and have told some of my stories to you, but i haven't been totally honest.
Hi Tatiana,
I'm only here since 1 month, and I also find it a wonderful place to talk about whatever is on our mind. It is a healing place for many. This is a place where we can say things that won't get us into trouble, like it would be in the Watchtower org. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling good thanks to the friends on this board. In a way, many of us here are victims of the watchtower policy. Thanks to the internet, we can get back up and strong, where we belong. Nice hearing from you.
some folks i work with asked if i'm a witness.
i told them i'm 'not active'.
they said "you have a choice?".
If only the Watchtower treated it's members with dignity and respect, they wouldn't have so many angry people, who talk against them. No religion should control your life like that. Nobody is perfect and as long as a person does his best, he should never be criticized by the organization. Shunning should not exist. Instead, they should love and care for people who are weak in the "troof".
this isn't about "controlling the pet population", as bob barker would say.. it's about saving your female cat or dog's life.
we learned the hard ($$$$) way, in the past 24 hours.. if an unspayed cat or dog is not being bred, chances are fairly high that following a period of estrus (heat), bacteria can find their way into your pet's uterus via the open-during-estrus cervix, and produce an infection.
this infection of the uterus is called pyometra, and it's a silent killer of both cats and dogs, because very often the pet exhibits no symptoms, particularly if the cervix remains closed at the end of estrus while the bacteria breed and multiply internally.
I love cats alot. I have a female cat 9.5 years old. I always did get my cats spayed or neutered. Living alone, makes the cat a real friend. I hope your cat gets well.

....either because you are/were a witness or because of an issue or situation that is dear to your heart?
IslandWoman
If only the brother and sisters would go and see sick people at the hospital, or at home. Then they could say stupid things like don't miss your meetings. It boils down to one thing. Be there and produce, or else.

It can be a great injustice when you become labeled. At the hall, it takes no time to be labeled for something. If you are well off financially, and one day you lose your job, then people will not help you as much, or at all, if you were labeled as rich.
.
not going to the meetings anymore, do you still feel the need to read god's word?

For those who don't believe in the bible, then I guess you don't believe in Jehovah& Jesus, nor the creation, or the devil. Either you believe the bible or you don't.
