I think that, as long as you don't join another religion, you will retain the last beliefs you had. I still believe what I learned in the org, but where I don't aggree with them, is how they treat their own brothers and sisters. They cover up many things that they done wrong. In other words, what they say and what they do is two different things. They say to have love, but they show no love. They say to be generous, but they will let you starve.

Yes, like you say
Life is for living
But why do Witnesses stay in the org? It's no surprise to us that they are there for the eternal life that they expect. They are also there for living. So the only difference is that they are not living life to the fullest now, but expect to do that later and forever. They might be deceived if they wait forever and it never happens.

For those who quit the organization, how did you feel on the day you were disfellowshipped? Were you relieved to be out of the organization?

Who do you say Jesus is?
by Blueblades in"all the armies that ever marched, and all the navies that ever were built, and all the parliments that ever sat,all the kings that ever reigned, put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerlly.
" "the historical result of jesus' activities was more momentous, even from a strictly secular standpoint, than the deeds of any other character of history.
a new era, recognised by the chief civilisations of the world, dates from his birth.

I still think that he is the son of God. That he is inferior to Jehovah, and created by Jehovah. That part of the teachings we received from the watchtower, I do agree with. But I don't know if Jesus and Michael the archangel are the same person. I have a hard time with that belief.

Waiting...
by JH inwhat must go through the minds of older jehovah witnesses, who believed that they would never die and now face the reality that they will die of old age?
being told since a century that
that the end is near just made them keep on producing without questioning.

What must go through the minds of older Jehovah Witnesses, who believed that they would never die and now face the reality that they will die of old age? Being told since a century that
that the end is near just made them keep on producing without questioning. But as they grow old and can't follow anymore, many start questioning the teachings of that organization. And how about the younger generation of witnesses, who see their older brothers and sisters aging and falling sick one after the other without the end coming to the rescue of these old people. Thats why the younger witnesses don't have the zeal of the older ones, because they see the deceptions of others who gave all they had and reaped nothing at all. Not living to see the end must take away the joy of these people and those around them. How long can that religion survive if they don't deliver in their expectations?

Being called brother/sister in public places
by JH inhow did you like being called brother or sister, when you were in public.
i remember once i was inside a bank waiting in line, and all of a sudden , a brother also waiting in line, said to me quite loud, hello brother x .
i felt like a jerk, being called brother in front of everyone there.

"The Pope"
by Blackcat inanyone here have an elder in their congregation who thought he was the head of the congregation ?.
the elder in our congregation was looked up to as god himself by the faithful dubs in the cong.
hence in circles he was nicknamed "the pope".. he even had his own reserved seat in the kingdom hall which no -one dared sit in, it was the only chair in the hall that had armrests on it.....and that was "the popes" seat.

Blackcat,
That elders seems bold enough to believe that God gave him that BMW because he alone deserves it.
