Agree with the helping with sleep. I take mine at bedtime also and can feel the difference with sleep if I forget it. -

I agree that vitamin D is worth looking into. I take a daily supplement and still have tested vitamin D deficient with bloodwork. I occasionally have to take prescription strength vitamin D of 20,000 iu to get my blood levels normal.
Also, consider calcium and magnesium supplements. This trio works in concert and has had a beneficial effect on my mood.

Just checked out your artwork. Loved the portrait of Smokey the cat. You do great work in subtle greys and white. -

Julia, I am sorry that you are not feeling so hot. I had a depressive episode starting in August, exacerbated by the loss of my 18 year old cat in September, and lasting until just recently. Oh, and I am a certified teacher who is only working as a substitute and I am not happy about that either.
Are you stressing because it's summer and you are worrying about employment for next school year? Do you feel stuck? Please find a therapist to help you get over the hump. I have bipolar disorder and I have been seeing my psychiatrist more often than normal to adjust my meds to try to get me over the hump.
But, in the meantime, your life suffers and you need a plan to get back on track again. A therapist could help you with both getting over the trauma and then putting your life back together. I am still in process because the bipolar waxes and wanes. And then I have to put it back together all over again.
My advice is to not stress over a teaching job right now. If you are not ready, as you know, it won't work out well. First is taking care of yourself. Call a therapist, please, and give them a chance to understand and be able to help.
Cry over your kitty as much as you need to. Make a small memorial if you so desire. Honor her life and her contribution to yours. Leave your heart open to the possibility of adopting another furry friend when you are ready. I adopted a kitten and he is quite a wild thing! I had forgotten about rogue attacks from under the sofa!
Please pm me if you'd like. I feel like I truly understand where you are coming from because there seem to be lots of similarities in our situations. I am coming out the other side of a bad episode right now, so hang in there! Things can get better.

Some people are allergic to it. It's related to ragweed, I believe. Might be a concern if you have allergies. -

I am down near Washington, DC. We are only getting 3 to 5 inches. Enough to mess up the roads tomorrow, but then it will move farther north. Wednesday is supposed to be sunny. -

New forum: one month progress report
by Simon inwell, we survived the first month at least!
yes, the new forum is now 1 month old.. of course there have been some issues and i'm grateful that people have been patient while i worked on them.
a big thank-you to everyone who's been patient, have provided useful feedback or just been willing to adapt to something new during the transition.. i've also made some improvements along the way and am fairly happy with how things are from a basic functionality and performance perspective so it's time to start looking at some of the new features i've been planning.

Thank you for all your hard work, Simon. I have a Samsung tablet and once I figured out that I had to use Chrome in order to post, I was fine.
I also like the brief descriptions of the new posts on the active page. It really lets me home in on what I want to read without the Click, No thanks, Previous page dance on the old forum.

Happy Australia Day. I'm sorry you have to work.
We happen to have no school because of teacher work days before report cards, so we'll celebrate along with you. Oh, and it's going to snow!
Try to do some relaxing after work. And enjoy the summer weather!

I got half custody!
by outsmartthesystem inso it has been quite a while since i've last been on this site.
the jist of my story is that about 5 years ago, i started a research journey that took me 2 1/2 years to complete.
against the advice of this board, i decided to show my wife because i mistakenly thought she valued truth.

Great idea to get her to the counsellor. Never underestimate the ability of a child to protect the organization, though. I hope she finds a counsellor who understands high control religions and undue influence.
Great job, Dad.
