OMG! This is great news!
If you care to add any more details I would love to hear them.
Also, how is her family taking it?
we had a nice long talk and i brought up some things that make me think that this isn't the "truth" and she somewhat agreed with me.
i stuck with things i personally experienced or had knowledge of plus all the changes in recent years.
she agreed on a lot of the points but still believes in god and the bible.

my wife has been off the rails lately.
she is not really a loving mom or wife.
she is upset that me and the boys don't believe the same crap as her.
GTTM, this struck me as an extremely brilliant observation for a teenager! ( I think you said he was a teenager.)
Honestly, I'm a teacher and I kind of have an idea of the way kids think, and this type of emotional analysis is very sophisticated for a young mind.
Good job, Dad. If you've been teaching him critical thinking, it's working!
Sadly it's often the kids who have been in emotionally difficult situations who are extremely adept at understanding emotions, motivations etc.
Tough way to learn, but this skill will be so useful to him for the rest of his life.
my dad and i would work on different "pioneers" vehicles in our kingdumb hell.
and to nuts and bolts they where real "hoopties" anytime ready for the crusher.
both my dad and i would work with our skills to keep their cars running since they don't have a real job to get a real working car.
I always thought the JWs would be better off if they followed the Mormon pattern: had people pioneer for two years when young and then get real jobs so they could donate back to the organization.
They really can't think farther than the end of their sleeves, can they?
my husband is going in on tuesday to have surgery to repair a badly torn rotator cuff on his right shoulder.
he is right handed.. he's 51 and is great about exercising and staying in shape.
however, while doing push ups, his shoulder just snapped.
Day 3 after surgery and things are going according to plan. He's weaning himself off of the pain meds and appears more alert and mobile today. I am hearing a lot of grunting and sighing right now, so I expect he might take half a pill and take a nap.
He has a squeeze ball attached to the end of his sling that he's supposed to be squeezing to keep the blood flowing. Tonight is the big night when he can take the bandages off and get in the shower. They're almost like plastic coated and are stuck on so generously that he looks like he's wearing football shoulder pads. They should be fun to peel off tonight. Not.
Then he can start his arm sliding exercises. He can slowly start moving his arm forward, "but no wing flapping" so no chicken dance for him.
We got these amazing pictures from the surgery which we have no idea about. The surgeon was in another surgery when he was discharged and he called my husband later on that night when he was sleeping and his phone was turned off. We go in next Thursday for removal of stitches, so we'll get the whole scoop then.
My discomfort was a minor bit in this process, but I was not allowed in the surgery center, so I spent 3 hours outside in my car. Neck spasms and sciatic nerve pain for 2 days. How annoying. And it was cold and dark because he was the first surgery. We were there at 6 am. I had to keep turning the car on for heat every 20 minutes or so. They did let me in when he was in recovery, though.
Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom and advice.
And it's Friday, so have a wonderful weekend!
what do you think of him?
i know he’s a great golfer.
we know he just got into a major car accident (again).. i respect his golfing abilities but personally i’ve never cared for him and i think the press glorifies him sooo much.
Golf is the most boring sport in the world.
I mean, is it a sport? You burn no calories. You get no exercise. Well, you might've in the good old days before golf carts.
Golf is just one big old question mark for me. I don't get it.
someone is researching jehovah’s witnesses.
they happen to come on to this site.
do the witnesses have the truth??.
Funnily enough, they've proven they don't have the truth themselves.
Every time they claim the light has gotten brighter to explain a changed teaching they're admitting they were wrong before, and therefore didn't have the truth.
It becomes a case of a past truth that is no longer true. And then the English language ceases to make sense.
i had my 1st rona vaccination last saturday.
i had the one i jokingly call the asteroid xenomorph.. the whole thing was well organised.
i felt fine until the next day.
I'm still on a waiting list.
Here we have Groups 1a, 1b, and 1c before Group 2.
I'm in Group 2 and they're still doing Group 1b.
I'm hoping to get mine within a month.
They've started Johnson & Johnson shots which is just one shot rather than 2, so I'd like to get in on that one if I can.

Thanks for that. I feel bad for the guy. He can't even pull the covers up in bed.
He'll say, "Okay, I'm ready to go to sleep. Can you pull the covers up for me now?"
Who wants to have to do that?

He won't go for CBD. He goes to Pain Management for his spinal fusion, so they've had the discussion.

It sounds like the recovery is different for different severities of tears.
He has an appointment with the surgeon at the two week mark to take out the stitches, so we'll verify physical therapy guidelines then.
He has been looking at three separate physical therapy practices. One has a pool which he is interested in. We do have a home treadmill which he is allowed to use after he's off of the prescription painkillers (for reasons of stability).
Mynameislame, that's an excellent idea to buy extra large T shirts. Someone else had recommended extra large button down shirts. We'll probably try both.
