Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

What's really difficult is when you're introverted and also have ADHD. Your need to be in motion overstimulates your introverted self that needs quiet and stillness and it can make you feel a little nuts. -

My husband walked in President Obama's inauguration parade.
I lived through hurricane Sandy dropping a tree on our roof.
I watched the towers fall on 911 and the Pentagon hit on tv. I remember a lot of fear because I had a 5 month old baby in my arms and we are so close to DC.
My cousin was struck by lightening...

But only 1% uses philosophy / reason, which explains why you can't reason with them. -

On respect for the belief of others. Sorry for the long post
by StarTrekAngel ini am inclined to start this thread in response to some comments made in other threads.
i have been coming around these forum for quite some time now so whatever you find in here is not just related to something someone may have said this week.
it can go months back as well.. i have seen many who claim to respect the belief of others but when it comes down to applying it into practice, things take a whole different tune.

Thanks, truthseeker. BTW, I like your floating wire bird's nest avatar.
Just trying to imagine the bird that would sit on it...

Science is a method of understanding, not a catalogue of facts. -

Most interesting to me are the results for belief in heaven and hell.
89% do NOT believe in hell. OK.
However, belief in heaven is split. 50% do believe in heaven while 39% do NOT believe in heaven.
What? Maybe they didn't understand the question? Or were they trying to witness to the interviewer about the heavenly vs. earthly hope?

Being interviewed by police tomorrow
by moley inwell tomorrow is a big day for me.
i'm finally going to be interviewed by the police about what happened to me as a kid.. im running the whole gamut of emotions at the moment.
sad, anxious, angry, guilt, fear and many more that cannot be quantified.. i feel physically sick, cannot sleep, have lost my appetite and i am desperately trying not to self harm.. i've got my sister to thank for getting this far.

So brave! Many can't or won't do what you are doing.
I hope you feel a tremendous amount of relief once you're finally able to give a voice to what has been hushed up for so long.
And, I bet that will create positive ripples in the rest of your life as well.

So, true, LW. If you're sensitive.
