  my intro to the JW world

  someone suggested that i should introduce myself and how i got here.

  this has been a crash course in the jw world.

  i got an email that said "good bye, have a nice life".

  You are one of those unfortunate individuals (much like myself) who somehow manage to attract life's toxic assholes, like bees to honey. This man was a two-faced manipulator who was using you. You called him on his BS, and he bailed. Consider yourself lucky, in particular that you have removed this toxic a-hole from your life. Myself, and most others on here will tell you straight out that this so-called "Religion" is nothing more than a publishing and real estate corporation CULT, masquerading as a Neo-Judeo Christian religion.

  It's a Cult!

  Be glad to have one less loser in your life, and get on with yours and try to remove the rest of the losers until you can finally breathe again.

  the pew survey i've been reading is quite lengthy, but filled with interesting information.

  it really explains a lot of the social issues.

  impact of little education, donation issues, the issues of women finding marriage partners.

  Well said! And what I am embarrassed to think back upon, is how I was raised and brought up to believe that this religion was so important, highly thought of, and "special." Ha! They are ants in the afterbirth of the1800's Adventist movement, which is just about done moving and DEAD. The outright arrogance (and ignorance) to walk around all day, every day, thinking that you are elite and special, because that's what's been drummed into your head since the day you were born. That everyone else is wrong, and somehow your denomination is right. That 99.2% of all other people on the planet are fleshy bird food, and YOU are going to be petting pandas in front of your Chalet in the New Order. All because that 99.2% has a differing of opinion or interpretation of the Bible, as opposed to what the Governing Body SAYS the bible means? The incredible gall!

  And what's worse is that there are still people alive today that are buying into this elitist attitude. Truly, there are suckers born every minute, and Cults aim to keep them that way!

  I'm 35. I don't think the above statement about most being above age 50 is true at all. I think younger users are on here and haven't posted, as they are lurking after looking into all things JW because of what they've heard or how they've been treated.

  @rebelfighter: Your ex-BF JW Elder was a totally deceitful hypocrite. Here he is an Elder, and secretly dating a "Worldly" woman? He could have been disfellowshipped (excommunicated) by the other Elders just for that!!!

  Trust me, that arrogant dufos did you a FAVOR!! I can't believe in 5 years time he didn't take you to meetings, introduce you around, etc. Just used you for sex and THEN questioned whether or not you'd make a good convert and submissive wife. Guess what? You didn't pass his little litmus test, so you were out on your azz!!!

  an appellate court has reversed the conviction of a bacliff woman who recorded her boyfriend raping his 14-month-old granddaughter on her cell phone, saying the trial judge tainted the jury by arresting a prospective juror during jury selection.

  alisha marie drake had been sentenced in 2013 to 15 years in prison for using her cell phone to record the act.

  her boyfriend, jason grant, was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography and is awaiting trial.

  yet another circuit assembly hall is going to be sold off!.

  they've been reducing the amount of congregations assigned to meet there and using the times when it isn't in use to make repairs.

  elders have now been informed that they are selling off the property and buildings and that circuits would be assigned to attend other sites, twice as far, three or four hours away, like montreal.

  @ PaintedToeNail: I remember that someone used to live on site to care for the grounds of Grantville. Guess they kicked that guy to the curb, huh? I remember Grantville got a remodel back in the early 00's, wherein they got new carpet, new baptismal pool (I still remember the original one with frogs, iron railing, etc). Do you remember when they still served food there? I do! No longer.
