I wonder, how many times, at how many doors, are JW's going to have to asked about the pedophile problem and the coverups of such, is the typical JW going to have to be asked before a light bulb goes on over there head with a "?" inside it? Imagine, Pioneering or whatever, and at least once a day some informed householder turns you down at the first mention of JW's because of the two-witness rule, pedophile cover-up, or similar issue? You can only chalk up so much to "persecution" before curiosity gets the best of you and you start researching *GASP!* online about what the heck people are talking about. Then of course, the floodgates open.

Dubs avoided like the plague
by hoser ini went to the restaraunt in a small town where i work and sometimes live and there were some jws there for lunch break out in service.
it is amazing to watch the locals sit as far away as they can from the table of jws.
some actually sat at a near table then loved tables when they realized jws were sitting near them.

Just wrote my DA letter....
by dubstepped inmy wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.
i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.
our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

My parents were abused as children, sucked into this cult right before I was born (around 1975) and raised me in it. I always felt like an oddball outcast. It's really messed me up. My 11-yr old son didn't know how to use our regular dial-up telephone. (about 20 years old) It's in a cradle, and he asked how to dial a number when there is no "green" or "red" buttons. I was floored. He had not idea what a "rotary" telephone was.....no clue at all. He really has no concept of VHS tapes. They are an oddity. He is going into 6th grade. This year, everyone is being issued iPad mini's, and all of their textbooks are on them, so no textbooks to carry around even. Streamlined simplification and portability, I'll give them that. As for playing games, he has a Nintendo 3DS (portable handheld), but I will not allow a full Sony PSP, XBox one, or similar in our house, even though I have a 70" LCD HDTV. Why? Because I want him to experience life, not be glued in front of the TV playing games becoming a fat sloth like so many of the other neighbourhood kids. He is active. We have a pool, he plays basketball, goes to a local park for summer camp. This being glued to a rectangle is BS. Oh, and he doesn't have a phone or iPod either. Totally unnecessary at this age, and nothing but trouble. -

And what exactly does the WTBTS do to financially help the flock they are supposedly in charge of? How many schools, hospitals, retirement homes, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, free clinics, etc do they operate? ZERO. So where exactly is all of that money going, if not to help the very ones who are giving freely and/or whom are in need?

I agree with above. Growing up in the 1980's, the older JW's and even my parents, could argue and reason a good bit at the doors or anywhere else for that matter about religion, doctrine, etc. We had to be able to, because how else could you prop up the 1914 date, Generation that won't pass away, etc? Now what do today's JW's have? Nothing. Just stand next to a cart, turn on the iPad and show a video and go, "Duuuuuh....uhhh....if you'd like answers to your questions, please attend the Sunday Meeting at da KingDumb Hall. Have a nice day!" Then mark your time down as a return visit.
I myself believe that the "dumbing down" of the current "Generation" of JW's is complete. GB at HQ have complete control of the rank and file, and all dissension (AKA, brazen conduct or questions) are handled with a swift JC and DF'ing. Only the hardcore zealot idiots are left. They are the ones that lap of this tripe, shove their hard earned money in the contribution boxes and ATM's with nothing to show in return, and say, "Oh please Sirs, may we have some more?" And the GB in their punch-drunk authoritarian state, are all too happy to shovel some more spiritually rotten tripe upon their plates. Yum! Yum! by snare&racket inthis australian investigation is astounding to watch.. the elders clearly don't see child abuse as criminal, if a jw confessed to murder, the police would immediately be called.

Wow......that testimony above is very telling about the conditioning and mind-control that the flock (especially the Elders) are under, doesn't it? Here we have an Elder being asked point-black if he'd notify the police of a murder, and he flat out states he wouldn't, and that he'd have to call "Legal" at "The Branch" to ask if it's ok to do so. Wow!! That's some good control going on right there! What a freakin' tool this Elder is! Typical Elder tool. -

Need Help! JW Grandmother (may be) Going to Court for Visitation
by Expanded-Mind ini am hoping someone may be able to give me some guidance on behalf of my son.
my ex-wife, who remains a jw, is threatening to go to court to get visitation with our 5 year old grandchild.
she had regular visits with our grandchild, but when my son (no longer a jw) and his wife (never a jw) found out that his mother was teaching their daughter the jw religion without their permission and even telling our grandchild not to tell their parents... well to say the least, that was a game-changer.

Unsupervised visits with my (non-JW) in-laws ended when they were caught taking our 6-yr old son on day-trips etc with the granddaughter who yelled at him in a restaurant and then cyberbullied him online and was caught. We had forbid the girl from being around our son again, but apparently the Mother-in-law didn't think she had to abide by our rules. She was wrong. She sees our son about once every 5 months supervised by my wife. NEVER alone anymore. She's not happy from what I hear. (I haven't seen my in-laws in years cause they are assholes) I hear she's depressed because our family are like strangers to them. Oh well....with treatment like what they were dishing out, who needs them? Not us.
