  'Parents' magazine cover with JW.org cartoon kids

  making the rounds on facebook among jws is a photo of a 'parents' magazine cover that shows the cgi jw.org kids on the cover, and an article headline about how wonderful the teaching tools on jw.org are.

  (i don't have the time or the desire to hunt the photo and post it - sorry).

  i immediately suspected some bored and naive jw doing some photoshopping.

  OMG, that is repulsive in the extreme!!!! Oh sure, your children MUST visit that cult website for subtle indoctrination and mind-control which JW's profess they will just LOVE!

  Ummm......I call BULLSH*T. There is nothing fun about the JW cult website. It is dumbed down nonsense and gooble-dee-gook packaged to look modern and cool, ala "Darla the Explorer".

  Kids don't think jwdotorg is "cool" or "fun", and they sure as hell wouldn't think attending 3-4 boring sales meetings dressed in monkey suits and prairie dresses for hours at a time listening to a "thou shalt not" brow-beating to be fun either.

  So apparently, the Flock needs a video telling them how to obey and kiss the CO's ass even more than they already do? Well, seeing as how 99% of everything coming out of the Org is reactionary, I'd say CO's are having a "control" problem, as-in, they can no longer control Bodies of Elders and the rank-n-file as they once did. Surely, the CO's must be coming up against a WALL of questions, dissent, and DISOBEDIENCE for "Mother" to actually have to produce such a video to the BOE & MS's. What an incredible site.

  And the old WT modus operandi continues to roll forth:

  I never watched a single episode of "The Daily Show". Not one. I tried once....got maybe 5 minutes in. And I like satire; SNL, MadTV, Key & Peele, etc, etc. The whole concept of it being about news and politics turned me off. John Stewart does ZERO for me as well....he's an arrogant douche, and that's saying something considering I actually find Bill Maher funny/entertaining. I could just never see the appeal of this show. Just did nothing for me, sorry.

  as the story of "annointed" ones goes.....when their spouse is left behind on earth, are they free to remarry?

  that would kinda suck, being in heaven...watching the wifey , or hubby gettin doinked by someone new.

  The Mormons (LDS) doctrine answers this in a much satisfying way. According to LDS, if you've been baptized (anointed) at Temple and are a man (or woman), when you die and rise up to the heavens you are assigned to a different blossoming planet of your own to rule over as a sort of "God". As such, you and wive(s) are responsible for having endless celestial sex in order to fill your very own planet. This is really good if you are a man, cause if you have (7) different wives, you can have a different wife for each day of the week! Women, sorry.....you're stuck with your man. May he have a magical schlong to your liking. Anyway, seeing as how the Universe is so infinitely larger than most humans can even comprehend, and seeing as how there are so many planets out there, I don't see how it would any problem for this doctrine. In fact, I often thought that even in the JW Paradise, once the earth got full and humans got bored, maybe Jehovah would allow us to travel to other worlds and explore and multiply. Seems sensible, does it not?

  i actually started clapping at that point, as his honour explained to the wt type creep sycophantic slithery lawyer that........" i understand that we all have issues to face in life and .....that is a part of life...........however it has become obvious that this man ....is in such a position to assist with this investigation.....".

  it boils down to the fact that stewart outright accused the latest witness of misleading the royal commission and this lead to some document searches which led his honour to conclude that they had been protecting mr jackson.

  this was a warm and fluffy moment folks.................brilliant stuff!!!!!

  Oh come on now, do you REALLY think Jackson or any other GB Member will come before a public commission to answer questions concerning.......ANYTHING? Not happening. They'll have their legal minions stall, deflect, stall, bribe, and scapegoat until The End finally comes, just so they don't incriminate themselves.

  Jesus confidently and respectfully stood before Pontious Pilate and answered questions, what do these guys do? Hide behind sick relatives and scheister lawyers and answer for NOTHING. So much for following in Jesus' footsteps, aye?

  i went to the restaraunt in a small town where i work and sometimes live and there were some jws there for lunch break out in service.

  it is amazing to watch the locals sit as far away as they can from the table of jws.

  some actually sat at a near table then loved tables when they realized jws were sitting near them.

  I wonder, how many times, at how many doors, are JW's going to have to asked about the pedophile problem and the coverups of such, is the typical JW going to have to be asked before a light bulb goes on over there head with a "?" inside it? Imagine, Pioneering or whatever, and at least once a day some informed householder turns you down at the first mention of JW's because of the two-witness rule, pedophile cover-up, or similar issue? You can only chalk up so much to "persecution" before curiosity gets the best of you and you start researching *GASP!* online about what the heck people are talking about.   my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.

  i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.

  our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

  Your wife sounds a LOT like me. Totally f*cked over by being raised in a religious lunatic cult. How you described her, you could have easily be describing me. My parents were abused as children, sucked into this cult right before I was born (around 1975) and raised me in it. I always felt like an oddball outcast. It's really messed me up.   i don't remember why they met at our new bedford, ma, tenement, a $5 weekly cold water flat.

  mom took home some $37 per week and dad was disabled.

  there were no food stamps, no ssi.

  My 11-yr old son didn't know how to use our regular dial-up telephone. (about 20 years old) It's in a cradle, and he asked how to dial a number when there is no "green" or "red" buttons. I was floored. He had not idea what a "rotary" telephone was.....no clue at all. He really has no concept of VHS tapes. They are an oddity. He is going into 6th grade. This year, everyone is being issued iPad mini's, and all of their textbooks are on them, so no textbooks to carry around even. Streamlined simplification and portability, I'll give them that. As for playing games, he has a Nintendo 3DS (portable handheld), but I will not allow a full Sony PSP, XBox one, or similar in our house, even though I have a 70" LCD HDTV. Why? Because I want him to experience life, not be glued in front of the TV playing games becoming a fat sloth like so many of the other neighbourhood kids. He is active. We have a pool, he plays basketball, goes to a local park for summer camp. This being glued to a rectangle is BS. Oh, and he doesn't have a phone or iPod either. Totally unnecessary at this age, and nothing but trouble.
