The slimboyfat challenge...
by The Rebel ini hope slim hasn't left the forum, ( again) but i noticed his last post was post 10,ooo which is quite an achievement and a great statistic to say " au revoir" on.
( yes i studied compulsory french at school, but " au revoir" is all i can remember so i may as well use it) .
anyway now for the " slimboyfat" challenge, can anybody here name past or present posters that have made over 10,000 posts?

I don't know how those posters do it. I've been on this forum for over 10 years now, and I have "only" 2,000 posts. I read and post here almost daily. Minimus is crazy! He actually reached the highest post count, (36,000 or something) and now his counter runs BACKWARDS! So he's probably got like 50,000 posts. -

My sister who is still in is going to Costa Rica as a missionary
by time2keepmoving ini left the organization in 2011 and never look back.
i left behind my sister and her two daughters by mid 2015 both her daughters (both are in their early twenties) were disfellowshipped and left the organization.
she has decided to go to costa rica as a missionary (i guess that's what they are still calling them, unless that has changed, been gone so long i don't know if they came up with a new term for it).

It's funny, I've been all over the world:
Hong Kong: Didn't see any JW's.
Ghangzhou Province of China: Didn't see any JW's.
Bangkok, Thailand: Didn't see any JW's.
Floating Market (Mekong) in Thailand: Saw a Kingdom Hall, on stilts!
Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico: Didn't see any JW's
Nearly every Caribbean island there is: Didn't see any JW's
Canada: Didn't see any JW's. In Niagara Falls, saw many other religions represented.
Peru (Lima, Cusco, Amazon Junge, Machu Picchu): Didn't see any JW's, though saw lots of Catholic charities and heard about JW's, SDA's, and Mormons being a pain in the ass, trying to get money, but offering nothing in return. Poor people here weren't buying their cult crap!
Florida & Hawaii: Didn't see any JW's.
NY & PA: JW's everywhere.
Beaches of New England, USA: Cart "witnessing", everywhere.
Where the hell are all the JWs? I never see any outside of Pennsylvania, and like I listed above, I've gotten around in my 36 years. Next year, I'm planning on trekking from Kathmandu to Everest base camp. Wonder if I'll see any Napelese JW's?

I honestly prefer Curry over Kobe, and I've watched Kobe for 20 years. I remember one of the initial meetings between Kobe and Jordan in 1996. Kobe wasn't even in the same league as the older Jordan. I didn't care for Shaq, either. Matter of fact, Lebron doesn't do anything for me. Kobe, Shaq, and Lebron are all money-grubbing, thug blowhards in my opinion. MJ had style and class, and I see that in the young Curry and even Kevin Durant. -

@ pale.emporer:
I didn't say for you to tell them you are leaving. No. I said that you should tell them, "NO" when asked and/or pressured into anything you don't want to discuss or do. Big difference. If they see non-compliance as "apostate", then they really are bat-shit crazy. You are an adult. Being an adult means more than answering and cowering to your parents. Guess what? You need to stand up for yourself and start saying, "No", with no explanation required except that you are saying "No", and that THEY need to respect your decision. Any further inquiries are NONE of their damned business! JW's are the nosiest MF'ers I've ever seen. I was born into this as well, so I know exactly where you are coming from. You need to teach them to respect your boundaries. Currently, you have none, and they know it. Put boundaries up, then re-enforce them not only thru actions, but thru the word "NO."

Anybody remember those brothers that would harass, and hound the elders into making them, finally, appoint him as an elder himself?
by Dunedain inlol, for some reason, i was thinking back to all the many "characters" that were often so prevalent in kingdom halls back in the day.
they are, i am sure, still there now, but fortunately i haven't been in a kh for like 20 years.. anyway, i remembered this one brother, who was dying to be made an elder.
he could not believe he wasn't an elder yet, after sooo many years.

This guy was obviously a dumbass. He would have been made an Elder in less than 2 years if he had been donating (by cheque with his name on it) in the contribution box, and giving out enough green handshakes come the CO's visit. I've seen some real low-life posuers become Elders super-fast using this very method. No Holy Spirit required, just green handshakes and all "who you knew".

Just say NO! And STOP giving talks, period.
JW's: The only Organization that requires you to ask "permission" to step down from "voluntary", non-paid positions and responsibilities. Ummmm...NO! You owe these people NOTHING! Zilch. Zero. Stop doing them, and if pressured by these clowns, ask them who they think they are to be interrogating you?
Tell them nothing, or else to F' off. They'll soon get the hint. What are they gonna do, DF you for not giving a damn? Grow a pair and be a man and put these clowns in their place.
That is all.

Former DO comments on Overlapping Generations
by James Jack inbrother richard (dick) morlan, a former co & do for many years, now lives in gadsden alabama, usa.
he is 77 years old.
i saw him at a recent assembly in dekalb county alabama and ask him about the prospects of him dying in this "system of things".. his reply was, "i am going to make it till armageddon, but if i should die before then, then the governing body is going to have to add another overlapping generation to another overlapping generations"!.

I remember so many beloved JW's of old while I was a child growing up in the 80's. They all basically said the same thing, that The End just HAS to come before they die. They were sure. Positive. It was imminent, because the WT Society said so. Guess what? They're all DEAD. ALL of them. My grandparents and parents too. They live now, only my memories. -

Lame and werid sample presentations at the meeting
by purrpurr inthey used to let bro's and sis's do the sample presentation and give them the leeway to put it in their own words thereby making it more natural.
not so anymore!
these days the sample presentations are beamed from mother website.. they seem to have been written by someone who has no experience of how people talk in real life.
-
WingCommander
Can we see these presentations? Has anyone uploaded them on Youtube? If someone could post a link, that would be great (and comical) - Thanks!
