I see the downvote Troll is up and about again. Hey JW troll, why are you even on here? Isn't there enough spiritual food on JW.gag?? Go put the Cart Song on continuous loop until the rest of your brain becomes goo.

Classic situation at Circuit Assembly Day
by freddo inso i've just skived off to the car park half way through our assembly day - what a classic morning.. i'm sat right behind an early-teen kid with some sort of special needs (autistic?
) who's sat with what looks like his late-30's harassed single parent mother.
(or married to an unbelieving mate?

@LongHairGal:
Well, just look at the names of most of the Governing Body Members that have ever lived. Sounds like some old German WWII troop reunion. Russell, Franz, Knorr, Henschel, Loesch, and the list goes on and on. It's only recently that they've included some British/Australian accents and (gasp!) an actual man of colour! You really have to research the history and period of time that the IBSA (Bible Students, AKA JW's) developed in order to truly understand their terminology, origins, and seemingly unique belief system. Here in Pennsylvania, we actually still have Dawn Bible Students around!! There are also Quaker and Christadelphian Meeting Houses, but they are few and far between, and some even museums due to being so old and historic. Boston also has quite a few, as America's founding fathers were usually Quakers, Christadelphians, Puritans, or Atheists. Most all were slave owners ironically.

By the way, "Order" is a term used in this area (Pennsylvania, Ohio) to describe certain sects. We have Old Order Amish, Old Order Mennonite, etc. They also use the term "Friends". Again, you'd have to be familiar with the multitude of religious movements and their history as it pertains to Pennsylvania.

It's actually quite simple. A lot of these terms come from the area of the cult's inception. You have to understand the religious demographic of the time, in the state of Pennsylvania and New York area. CT Russell was exposed to a multitude of different religions and groups of this area. They all had their impact on him, his not-so-unique belief structure, etc. We have Quakers, Adventists, Calvinists, Christadelphians, and various Masonic Orders and Lodges. ALL of these influenced CT Russell.
Saying "The Friends" is quite common in Quaker and Christadelphian Meeting Houses. And oh gee, "Meeting Houses" sure sounds familiar, huh? JW's attend "Meetings" and listen to "talks", instead of going to Church and hearing sermons? In the early days, CT borrowed a TON of imagery directly from the Masons. Back then, they were waiting for the "New Order", (now New System) to come. New World Order, is completely Masonic, as are "Assembly Halls", etc.
The belief in adult baptism (as opposed to child baptism and confirmation) is Ana-baptist, as are other beliefs stemming from Calvinism. Arianism and end-times BS are purely Adventist Annihilationism.
So you see, many of these terms have filtered down thru the years from the times in which this religious order began. Now, it's a full-blown CULT. Back then, I'd say it was an odd, but uniquely pieced together (from everything else around here) religious Order.

Just Bumped Into My JW Sister And Brother In Town
by pale.emperor inso im walking through town today on my lunchbreak and spot the unmistakable walk of my younger brother.
this is the one who left watchtower... well it turns out he's returned to the vomit after stupidly turning up to the 2017 convention and a few elders filling his head with seeing our dead dad in paradise and to "wait on jehovah".. a few meters behind him was my sister.
she spotted me first, then hurried up her step to my brother.

It must have been the wave. They aren't used to that. You gotta mix it up! Next time, no waving. I repeat, no waving! Instead, go for the Devil Horns. If you aren't familiar, see a tutorial about Ronnie James Dio. He will properly show you how to do the "curse" or devil horns. Then you can throw that sign at them next time. Maybe they will feel better? But it's worth a try!

JW Parents getting... DIVORCED
by raven inhello everyone!it has been quite some time since i've posted, but a lot has happened.
i am still with my boyfriend (mentioned in my past and very first post!
) life is going well.

1.) You are a grown woman, living outside your parents home with a boyfriend. Why are you complaining about not being on their health insurance? Frankly, that is YOUR problem. At your age, you should NOT be dependent upon mommy and daddy for everything, especially car insurance! So frankly, them cutting the cord on that is WAY over due.
2.) Your mom probably got sick of your stepfather treating her like crap. Always at the Kingdom Hall? Very little affection or sexual intimacy? Sick of his crap? Getting more attention outside of the home, then in? C-ya, loser! Can't ask someone to remain miserable forever.

If WT are cutting back on mags will they also cut back on Bethelites?
by truthseeker ini was thinking after hearing about the agm cutbacks to the mags and other website content surely they will end up dismissing more bethelites?
i would have thought in the old days, before the web, an artist or writer at bethel would have been a full time job making content for four 32 page mags a month.
now what are these guys going to do?.

Yeah, hurry up and build the new UK HQ on the Sheeple's dime and time, and then put it right up on the auction block. Rake in that $$$$$$$.
I'm honestly not surprised by all these closing and layoffs. To me, since the new Warwick Cult Compound was completed, and it is so huge, there really is no use for ANY of the branches, anywhere. Every single piece of literature, video, etc can be produced at Warwick and distributed worldwide. Heck, with today's global printing industry, it's probably just cheaper to write the literature, send it to the proper printing facility in that country, and have it printed off for the Congregations and delivered. WT Org is totally streamlined. I foresee a future where the Warwick HQ is THE ONLY facility on the globe. Totally centralized.

The only active member of the Wayons clan that I recall, was the sister, who was also on "In Living Color" with her brothers. After the show, she married an Elder and left entertainment.
Hard to believe Damon would actually be involved with this crap. Honestly? I think it's just a guy that really LOOKS like Damon Wayons.
