This isn't surprising. Many black men are prown to what is known as "getting some on the down-low" which is code for some man-on-man action even though you may consider yourself straight or even married.
He's guilty as sin, just look at his face sometime. He's been "outed" and he knows it.
I expect him to pull a "Jimmy Swaggart" real soon and make some tear-filled confession and ask for an apology during a service soon.
"Ooohhhh please Lord, FORGIVE ME, for I have sinned again--st You!!!!"
I hope this guy is run over by a freakin' truck, because sending him to prison would only ensure that he gets to pound more brown eyes in his cell, he'd like it too much, like a kid in a candy store. No, the only justice here will be seeing him lose all of his money to the ensuing civil suits against him, and then being run over by a bus and/or truck. Sweet justice that would be.

Seven JWD/JWN years and counting
by FlyingHighNow ini first came across jwd when i lived in hawaii, i think so anyway.
it was during 2001. i had first hit the net in 1999. looked for the official watchtower site and come across articles about ray franz and others mistreated and either kicked out or frozen out.
i always knew i'd never be able to resist reading "apostate" literature.

1.) I think I saw some photos of you on your brother's tribute post a few days back; you're cute!!
2.) If that avatar pic is really you, you're cute!!!
3.) I know a George Seurat piece when I see one; he's one of my favourite painters and I've been the Art Institute of Chicago many times.

It's simple: There are abusers and victims in Cults.
Also, from what you described, here is my take:
1.) The congregation that is helping the youngest daughter is RARE.
2.) Since the young couple is fairly new and/or inactive, the fake show of love/concern may just be to get them back into the cult and active again. Once they start showing up more, they'll be dropped like a hot potato.
3.) Your husband was an Elder? The other Elder's probably didn't like him over some small grievance and didn't give a shit about his heart attack. By association, their asshole Elder wives didn't care for you either. Proof? They didn't bother to give 2 shits to help you. Fend for yourself, woman!!!
Can't you just feel the Christ-Like love oozing from these clowns?

Do You Think Some Witnesses Are Mentally Ill Or Mentally Impaired....
by minimus inand that's why they are in the religion?.
i recall many jws over the years who were what i'll call "weird"---and looking back at it, many witnesses are "odd" and "different"..

Don't know how to title this but: Tragedy!!!
by AK - Jeff inhttp://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2010/09/27/book_details_motives_for_suicide_at_harvard/?page=1.
what he left behind: a 1,905-page suicide noteauthor described nihilistic outlookby david abel, globe staff | september 27, 2010. in the end, no one really knows what led mitchell heisman, an erudite, wry, handsome 35-year-old, to walk into harvard yard on the holiest day in his faith and fire one shot from a silver revolver into his right temple, on the top step of memorial church, where hundreds gathered to observe the jewish day of atonement.. but if the 1,905-page suicide note he left is to be believed a work he spent five years honing and that his family and others received in a posthumous e-mail after his suicide last saturday morning on yom kippur heisman took his life as part of a philosophical exploration he called an experiment in nihilism.. at the end of his note, a dense, scholarly work with 1,433 footnotes, a 20-page bibliography, and more than 1,700 references to god and 200 references to the german philosopher friedrich nietzsche, heisman sums up his experiment:.
every word, every thought, and every emotion come back to one core problem: life is meaningless, he wrote.

I would hope that they schedule an autopsy for whatever is left of this poor fellow's brain. Reason being, is that there is a condition in which people with a brain tumor in a certain part of the brain begin to write everything down in detail, they are compelled to do it, even if they've never written like that in their lives....they become obsessed as well as homicidal and suicidal. This was the case of the former Marine Corp guy back in the 1960's who killed his family and then took an arsenal of rifles atop the Texas A&M clock tower, killing something like 19 people with his rifles. He was held up for like an hour until cops got up there and shot him. He left behind numerous suicide notes, and even ASKED for an autopsy after his death because he felt he had something wrong with him; guess what? He did!! A brain tumor.
This guy could have been suffering with this for years, compelling him to obsess over nihlism and write this book.
There is NO WAY I could honour his request to publish his self-serving, ego-manical, depressive book or upkeep his website. For what purpose; to give the green light to other people thinking of committing suicide as well???
What a nut-case. The fact that he did this in a very public place also backs my theory of him being an egomanic with delusions of self-grandeur.

Girl, reading your story made me feel like I had a long-lost sister!!!! I am 31, not that much older than you, and I went through the EXACT experiences as you growing up!! Having to go to the library during ever holiday or b-day part, holiday assembly, etc. It was awful!!
My parents were the same way, VERY strict and yet they were off-again, on-again as far as regular attendance. They would also guilt me out of EVERYTHING! I never went to ONE dance, EVER!! I didn't have my own high school graduation party, but guess who did? The 4 or so other JW's that I graduated with, but guess who they DIDN'T invite? ME!!! I was so hurt by that. Couldn't have a party of my own, but the other JW's did and didn't invite me cause I was too "worldly" because I wasn't baptized. I NEVER got baptized, so that jokes on them!!!!
I attended college, but it was hard with no parental financial assistance. The WatchTower has stolen our childhood from us, but that doesn't mean they have to steal OUR childen's!! I have a 6-year old with a "worldly" wife. My child has never stepped foot into a Kingdom Hall, ever!! He has had all B-days, holidays, etc. I haven't gone "all-out" on holidays, but I've definitely have with B-days, etc. It gets easier, TRUST ME!!!!
Your description of feeling like being "punched in the gut" and being brainwashed it EXACTLY my own feelings about 6 years ago when I finally could admit out-loud that what my parents raised me in was a CULT. Say it out loud now, a CULT!!! If you can, read Ray Franz's books, Jim Penton's book, and if it all possible watch the video from 1985 entitled, "Witnesses of Jehovah". It maybe be on youtube in parts, and it's an hour long, but worth every minute!!!!! I was so sick after watching it that I refer to that moment as a real turning point for me....I had that "punched gut" feeling after watching it. My late mother watched it as well.
At least your husband is on the same road, the road leading out of this "false religion" and hopefully to a path of true worship, in whichever denomination you may feel comfortable with. I am more convinced then ever that while Jesus may not be God, He definitely is drawing those seeking TRUTH and HIM out of the WT Org. Once you are out a while, you can really start to see the grip and control the Governing Body is lording out over everyone, in the form of research, thought, education, careers, dress and grooming, actions, etc, etc, and it is only getting worse with every passing year.
My deceased parents wouldn't even recognize this religion if there were resurrected right now, they just wouldn't!!! The recent Generation change has really proved to me how freakin clueless they really are; they are just pulling crap out of their asses now!!! I remember in the 1980's that 1914 Generation was PROOF, absolute PROOF of how close to The End we really were, hell The Great Tribulation was due to break out any second!!!!!!! Now, they don't even make a guess as to who the King of the North is, and the cry of Peace & Security is no where in sight. It's all "Do as we say, and no comment from us on past fallicies" from the WT leadership.
Welcome!!

Jesus Is Not the Atonement.
by whereami inthe new testament is full of applications of passover imagery to the execution of jesus.
however, passover had nothing to do with atonement for sins.
in this video, we'll see how jesus' death failed to fulfill the actual jewish ritual for atonement on the day of atonement (yom kippur)--this despite all the claims that jesus perfectly fulfilled the law.. what say some of our in house theologians?.

Sorry Snowbird, I still don't buy into the FULL TRINITY that YHWH is Jesus, and Jesus is YHWH. I can accept that Jesus is of divine ORIGIN, having been made of the same type of perfect cosmic spiritual essense of YHWH God, but that he is begotten of YHWH, not YHWH Himself.
The closest I can get to accepting the Trinity is that Jesus, YHWH, and the Holy Spirit are connected in some form we are not even capable of understanding as mere fleshly mortals. Tied closely together in some way we can't understand, yet being 2 completely seperate spiritual entities when need be. This to me anyway, explains how Jesus could say, before Abraham was, I AM, and also Him saying that if you saw His face, then you've seen the Father's, etc, etc, etc. I don't recall Jesus ever stating, "I am GOD", however I do recall him saying he was the Son of God, etc, etc.
The Irish Catholic Shamrock analogy applies here, all having the same stem, yet being 3 different leaves on the Shamrock.
Make sense?

Another successful ex
by behemot injonathan saunders thanks his upbringingfashion designer jonathan saunders thanks his jehovah's witness upbringing for his successful career.
fashion designer jonathan saunders says his jehovah's witness upbringing pushed him to succeed in the clothing industry.. the scottish-born designer - who wowed critics with his floral designs for spring/summer 2011 at london fashion week - admitted he hasn't spoken to his religious parents since he left home at the age of 16 to pursue a career in fashion.. jonathan - who is renowned for his edgy geometric designs - said: "you have to go without something to really want it.
i'm quite thankful for my upbringing because of that.

Can you imagine that absolute SHIT and constant belittling his parents must get ALL THE TIME from the other congregation members??? And of course, because he's in fashion design I'm sure the biggest rumour is that he is probably GAY. I don't know if he is or not, but I'm sure that's the rampant rumour about him.
Instead of praising his determination and successes, I'm sure he's held up as an example of what NOT to be at the assemblies.
Any pride his parents/family feel is quickly beaten down by the harsh WT rod of shame and indignity for not serving THEM.

Assembly talk admits that meetings are boring.
by easyreader1970 ini made a post yesterday about some of the stupidity that has been flowing from my most recent assembly program.
one things i forgot to mention was this:.
hd television, video games, cell phones, and other interactive electronics - all of these things are very highly stimulating to the eyes and ears and kids (and maybe some adults, too) get used to receiving this type of visual and auditory input.

^^^^ In response to the post above, I just have to say how sad it has become when your faith is so WEAK, that even questioning the incredibly horrible song book is considered an act of doubt and apostacy!!!!!! What a weak faith indeed!!!
This also points out and PROVES just how much Big Brother up in Bethel has been watching the online chatter on discussion boards such as this!! How else would they know and state such things if they weren't on here themselves to see it???
Hey Bethel Spy, did you know you're a fucking hypocrite??? Yeah, I'm talking to YOU, you repressed mental midget!! Better go wash your hands off with the New World Translation after touching your keyboard, seeing as how you're committing spiritual fornication and all!!!!!!
