been off the board for about 6 days or so battling a nasty bout of vertigo that hit me early this week.

at least my heads not spinning so i can think straight now to type a thread.

in this article titled, " maintain a complete heart towards jehovah " ( which should be called ' maintain a complete heart towards the wt society ) - wt society uses a lame illustration of a field laborer desiring family - yet missapplies this to jw's desiring " things of satan's world".. on page 15 it states, " a field laborer is busy plowing.

That "illustration" is absolute insanity. Even if I were a JW, I would STILL be able to see just how misapplied this is. A better illustration would have been of Lot's wife who looked back in longing, and turned to a pillar of salt. Longing for sinful things, sinful life, I could understand an illustration like that, and I think we all could. Overindulgance in gambling, drinking, drugs, and other harmful addictions is destructive and not beneficial. But to actually have the gall to claim that thinking about your family, home, (education or career missed?) is SINFUL and will cause you to lose favor in Jehovah God's eyes? That is just plain down whacky mind-controlled sh*t right there!!

As a matter of fact, I'd say that that is so over the top, that I almost wonder if there isn't a member of the "conscious class" on the Writting Committee inserting a few "wake-up calls" into the articles? I hope so, because you have to think that some of this more hard-line Jim Jones type speech would really start to wake a few Rank & File up, especially those doubting or on the fence.

Yes......Jim Jones would be a good comparison, and rightfully so.....after all, they are selling off all of their Brooklyn property and heading to some compound up in the hills aren't they to live in a man-made Paradise? Yep....nuts!

Time for another tattoo thread!

well folks i told myself i would get my first tattoo when i got my credit cards paid off and i am getting real close.

i have a few ideas, but am open to suggestions.

who wants to show theirs off?.

I like tattoos, and currently have (2). This one I got in 2006, by Master tattoo artist Shane O'neill. He is currently a finalist on Spike TV's "Ink Master", and I think he's going to win the $100,00.00. I have an appt with him in September.

He's probably the best realistic/portrait/black and grey tattoo artist on the planet. Bob Tyrell is a close second. If you are wanting a tattoo, I advise doing your research and finding the best tattoo artist for the genre of tattoo you woud like. Also, don't ask how much. Money is no object; this art is going to be on your skin for the rest of your life, so don't bother asking because you get what you pay for.

he told me today that many years ago he went to a memorial.

when they passed the wine and bread he noticed that no one was taking any and thought it was weird.

i've taken a bit of a break recently from analysing the more recent articles.

i find it makes my head spin when i dwell for too long on all the lunacy, fear-mongering and paranoia - of which this month's issue is a classic example.

however, this time round i just couldn't help myself.. there were quite a few things that leapt out at me, but one of the funnier quotes was as follows (taken from page 19, paragraph 20):.

I think it's noteworthy to mention that "The Friends" is not even a JW-created term....they stole it too, much like their founder did with Barbour's Adventist chronology/theories.

"The Friends" actually comes from a much older group, The Quakers. Guess where the Quakers meet? A Hall, of course!!

Religions class!!

i'm taking an intro to world religions college class and today was the first day!

(it's a 5 week advanced class) i'm very excited to learn about other religions, since i really have only known one my whole life.

one of our assignments is to visit a place of worship, totally out of our comfort zone and write a report on it.

Oh the shame. When you fall into more of Satan's traps which include going to all-night binge drinking orgy parties at frat houses and thinking about renting your own apartment, why the Elders will be there to listen to you confess your worldly sins in a private, proding, setting. (a JC). The Governing Body will then forgive you after a year of intensive shunning and being made to feel like a lepar.

Overlapping generation segment on the new Circuit Assembly program

so there i was at the circuit assembly sunday morning with my eyes glazed over as usual when all of a sudden, bam!

a demo with two brothers talking about the new overlapping generation teaching.

the reason it took me by surprise was because it occured during the second talk of the sunday morning symposium, "sanctify god's name by your speech".

Hahahahahahahahaahahahaahhahaha!! As we can see, no new "spiritual food" is being provided, but the Governing Body is merely now doing damage control.

If they actually had to have a mini-drama to go over this, than you can be sure people are complaining and looking online for answers. Fantastic! They are now REACTING, instead of being pro-active.

What a bunch of stooges! The blind are truly leading the blind. Has the self-destruction of this freakin' CULT finally begun? Are the cracks finally starting to show? With all of the talks against higher education, the internet, shunning, bad association, critical thinking AKA independant thought, and obediance to Elders, is should now be "evident" that things are starting to crumble in the JW FantasyLand.

this weekend at our special assembly day, let gods will take place the final talk was a head shaker.... the bethel speaker was quite entertaining when he joked @ the shortcomings of the elders.

he also made us laugh with the comment "we were told the end of the system is right around the corner, but we've found its been more than that, we've been around the blocks a few times.

" he told the young ones to make the truth their own by researching in the wtbts publication (only).

1.) Obey the Governing Body.

2.) Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.

3.) The beatings will continue until morale improves.

4.) You are not doing enough, so pray more, attend all the meetings, and be regular in the field ministry.

5.) We never said that, YOU misunderstood and are wrong.

6.) Do as we say, not as we do.

Wow.......just WOW. Imagine humour and those exact words/wording be used all around at different assemblies to make "light" of the "old understanding" of the 1914 Generational teaching? I am FLOORED. This is a slap to the face of the elderly, long-suffering Witnesses who have lived thru so much. And for those of us who lived thru the 1980's and being scared and told that the generation of 1914 absolutely, possitively, would not die until "The End" came, and that it was SOON, Any Day Now....IMMINENT.....we were so lied to and conned......I am sick, just sick from hearing this. I can hardly believe they would backstep like this, and to top it all off...make it sound "funny" or humourous in order to brush off the "old understanding".

It's hearing things like this that make me absolutely, 100% certain that I did the right thing by starting my research at age 19 in 1999, and then leaving. The JW's have now totally lost any trust from an entire generation of youth. Who would believe them? What a sack of liars they are.......my entire youth was wasted for a LIE, and these condescending users have the nerve to joke about it as if it were nothing? Cold, heartless, cruel, money-grubbing bastards.

Truly, these are wolves in sheeps clothing, sent to deceive and mislead the Christian flock, just as Jesus foretold. Amazing that they still proclaim to have the one and only "Truth".

There is a term for all of this. The JW's call it, "Long Suffering". Remember that phrase?

And most of the JW's justify such "long suffering" by figuring that the longer they suffer, the more likely they will wake up Paradise once they die. This is why such treatment and burden is put up with....it's like they are proving how worthy they are of Everlasting Life. Too bad they don't read more of Jesus' promises instead of falling for all of the Governing Body's guilt trips and demands.
