Well, I saw the website. I don't see anything contra WTS. So it doesn't sound like it was a hostile resignation.
I think he was advanced in his years and it was his time to retire.
johannes wrobel, the founder of the watchtower history archives in germany, responsible for the stand firm-video and the stand-firm-exhibitions resigned in november 2008 and left the german branch office.
he was also the responsible person for many of the wt sponsored websites on jw in the 'third reich'!.
there are no further details known yet but this could be big news!.

this is a rehash of the series "genius of islam" form the 80's.. what makes me mad is that making and keeping ice in the desert for iced cream, air conditioned bazaars.
new mathematical methods, astronomical observations and new theories on optics is nothing to do with a religion.. all that happened was that clever people used their intelligence to solve problems,.
and they happened to have been raised as muslims.. can you imagine the outcry if we put on a tv show called "genius of christianity" or "what christianity did for science"?.
I think I know.
Islam developed the CLNV or the Camel Launched Nuclear Vehicle. They take a Russian nuclear weapon bribed by one of their oil funded psychotic Islamic terrorist groups whom they can pay 50 cents and 72 virgins in heaven to some idiot islamic zealot - of which they have a limitless supply - to mount on his camel and aim the beast with a cell-phone trigger in the direction of Israel.
The only reason it can't be a TCLNV or a Tactical Camel Launched Nuclear Vehicle is that Islamic Terrorists are never picky with their targets.
there may be hope for her escaping .
she's scared of harmageddon though....
And what are your cousin's initial impressions?
i know, sorry...this must be tiring for you to hear but i feel glad.
i need it and it gives me hope that there may be a good guy out there for me.
snowbird...any comments?
And thinking of marriage already?
i'm afraid i haven't been following the wts as closely as many of you are.
i'm just courious of who really runs the wts these days.. i'm almost certain it can't be the gb.
unless they figured a loophole that will get new and younger members into this self-appointed priestlike elite and keep their assumed reign of power with the president having total control.
Hi all. I'm afraid I haven't been following the WTS as closely as many of you are. I'm just courious of who really runs the WTS these days.
I'm almost certain it can't be the GB. Unless they figured a loophole that will get new and younger members into this self-appointed priestlike elite and keep their assumed reign of power with the President having total control. Those where the days! LOL!
Last rumors I heard it was a checks and balances game between the two most powerful departments in the WTS HQ: The Teaching Dept and the Legal Dept. With most of the time the Legal Dept winning slightly most of the plays although they do influence each other from time to time. I guess they have to.
Still the case today?
I still find it funny that for an organization that prides itself on neutrality in world politics, in its own little world it is nothing but politics of their own special kind!!
Also, any chance that the GB will either disappear or become irrelevant?
Thanks.
don't know if this has been posted or not, but there's a new book out by an ex-jehovah's witness.
it's entitled "the kingdom hall no more.".
see http://www.earnedmedia.org/khnm0110.htm.
Rekless, these days you can publish anything you want on the Interent yourself via your own webpages. But if you want to make some sort of living, recognition, or both out of it you need to get it published in book form. If you fool around within the link above you'll see the publishers of this individual's book. I think you can check them out and see if you want to use them or get some other ideas of other publishers. I've heard there are many publishers who work in similar ways. Or if you have the investment, get the book published youself.

Interesting that you mentioned this.
Yesterday I went back to the kingdom hall (different congregation) after some years because I was told that a long time childhood friend would be giving the talk and this sister - a long time grandmother figure for me - just knew what buttons to push so I gave in and said I'd visit. LOL
Turns out it was someone with a similar name so it wasn't him. We were all disappointed. But that's not the end of it. The speaker was so boring and parrotish using all typical clichés and shallow reasonings that I was starting to feel embarrassed FOR HIM! LOL All he needed to do to make himself look worse was to pick his nose on stage -- which he finally did at the end of his talk.
Not a total loss -- the entertainment value was worth it.
But what I noticed was the attendance -- not even half the hall was filled.
That was interesting. So maybe there is something with this book?
my daughter was here last night, she asked if i knew about john travoltas son dying.
i said yes, her reply was... scientology wouldn't let him take medicine and thats what killed him.
i said, well actually, the news said he was taking meds but they no longer were working for him.
That was excellent reasoning. As the other poster said: Now the thinking process begins.
Interesting about Scientology. I didn't read the media saying that the Travolta's refused medical treatment for the son's disease. But I tend to distrust most USA media these days. Just look at the inconsistancy. They get all into Sarah Palin's personal life but regarding the Travolta's they don't mention what effects their religion played in their son's treatments.
Go figure!
does anyone know --- has anyone ever successfully sued the wtbts after being disfellowshipped and losing the natural affections of their family, as per wtbts directions to 'shun'?
i guess it would be 'alienation of affection' or something else... i don't know.
i'm lucky to have had no family members in the cult - but i've read horrendous stories of the effects disfellowshipping has had on others - lives effectively ruined by losing mates, children, parents, friends, jobs, homes... suicides, murder/suicide - all devestating results of the cult's edicts.
I think the WTS is on weak ground if another Witness in, say in a medical or legal matter, broke professional confidentiality in order to snitch on you to your congregation via religious contacts.
While silently "encouraging" the extra congregational snitching, I'm sure the WTS will let the snitcher hang out to dry alone if he or she is found out. So you have to show that your local elders had to be contacted with the damning information by help from the WTS and there is simply no way for the snitch to pass that information to your local congregation in any other way.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the WTS will only limit themselves to giving the snitch the phone number of the PO so he or her can call the information in giving the appearance that the WTS had no active participation.
Yep, that's my guess. LOL Well, it was a good mental excersize.
Just another Trinitarian Christian site. What's so special?
It is neat and easy on the eyes however.
