the watchtower society tries to "demonize" the internet.
what damage do you think the internet has caused on the jehovah's witness religion??
?
I'm a newspaper columnist writing for the last five years on internet topics. When I da'd they blamed it on the Internet of course. I think it's been very instrumental in freeing those with the curiousity and intelligence to make their leave of the religion. It's the best thing since The Simpsons for corrupting the JW youth, lol.

do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell....the words of jesus at matthew 10:28. so,according to jesus, the soul does exist after the death of the body.but in order not to be destroyed you must fear the one who can destroy your soul.. what a way to live!.

I hope so, life flies by too quickly........we'll find out soon enough!
i have been dating this woman for two months.
i somehow agreed to being monogamus with her....the details aren't important..but here i am stuck in a relationship that daily grows more unbearable.
i have been trying to get the nerve to end it for the last 6 weeks...lol well it's true.
Just because women want something a lot of men can't seem to give doesn't mean women are stupid. I believe in casual relationships at times if both parties are aware of it at the beginning, but your nonfat joke wasn't warranted. That was mean Tim and I want you to take it back.
(Anne, seeing if she can get a brawl started somehow involving chocolate )

Alfalfa Switzer best known as Alfalfa in The Little Rascals
that's what i'm starting to hear.
my mother has had a number of people asking her where our family has been.
"have they been attending another hall?
Sure, they miss you but never bother to call and see if you aren't feeling well or perhaps needed a ride or something. Or, you hear about a big party, everyone was there and you weren't invited, but "they miss you". Uh huh. It's the guilt tactic to try and get you back to the meetings. They know you're backing away and they want to make you feel bad. If they're a real friend, they'll come out and ask you what's up. In fact, they'd invite you to the party, ask if you needed anything, etc. Not just to quiz you on meeting attendance.
I thought I'd miss a few of them, but not really. The more I'm away the more I realize I didn't really have all that much in common with them anymore. I'd love to see a few friends snap out of it and I'll be there if they do, but they're scared to be seen talking to me now, lol.
in the united states i keep hearing about how nobody sees the witness is going door-to-door and more, or at least not as often as they used to.
i also heard a report from england recently which stated to the same effect.. what do you think?
do you think the internet is the watchtower society's worst nightmare?.
You have to read Stephen Cox's article The Truth vs. the truth in this month's Liberty magazine. He covers this very topic in a detailed, well researched manner. I have a copy in gif format if anyone wants a copy. It's huge, 9 pages, but Just send me a pm. Thanks,
Anne
have any of you on this forum, ever met up with anyone considered famous?
i've met a great deal of people over the years.
one of my most memorable: dennis leary, drinking a few pints with him as he sang "margaritaville" from the jukebox.
Shook hands Charlton Heston and he was clearly a celebrity with presence. I also met President Jimmy Carter once, just a handshake and a hello. I also have an ongoing friendship with Madonna's dad and stepmom. I even wrote an article for Emeril Lagasse's website about his winery in Northern Michigan. I would love to meet Antonio Banderas (without Melanie anywhere nearby, LOL)

what is the most martyr-like effort you ever made as a jw to preach door-to-door...?.

8 months pregnant and hot as hell outside. Got conned into going for "just a little while" so I could help sit in on a study, turned out the householder "forgot" about the study so we did return visits instead. Just driving around in that stifling little cramped car with no a/c was enough to make me sick. I can't believe I did that, but only one time! Of course there was one pioneer who just took her little newborn out every day with her in service, nursing in the car, changing diapers in the car. What a life. haha She sure enjoyed telling everyone how a little baby wasn't going to keep her from serving Jehovah. Stupid, stupid woman.
