John is in heaven where he sees the great crowd but only hears about the 144K because their on earth sill alive being sealed (protected) from the 4 winds about to hit the earth. Read this guys stuff on his site, hes a very well respected translater and bible scholar, you'll see he makes a lot of sence.

by Crazyguy ini was talking to the person who posts on this site www.wernerbiblecommentary.org and we were talking about his understanding of the great crowd and the 144k (his whole article is on the site).
anyway if you look at rev 5:10 these look to be the same as the great-crowd, being from the nations etc.
and are dead.

Meeting for those wishing to be appointed
by PrincessCynic ini heard recently that a nearby congregation which some of my family attend are having this.
basically the elders are arranging an open meeting with all those who would like to be appointed.
is this happening everywhere?

they has one of those at my hall and most of the brothers showed up but none ever got called so to speak. I think that maybe the elders at some halls dont want to share power.

Satan thrown to earth "about" 1914?
by wearewatchingyouman inso i'm thumbing through the new "silver sword" and i notice that in the appendix under "message of the bible" that it says, "about 1914 jesus hurls the serpent satan to the earth...." i can't remeber ever hearing the word "about" and 1914 placed together before in regards to this event.
are there any jwapologists, or anyone else for that matter, who have an explanation for this?.

by minimus inaccording to the your will be done book ..."there is scriptural reason to believe that by the time of the annual celebration of the lord's evening meal on march 26, 1918, satan the devil was hurled down to the earth.
"now this must have been quite the war, since we are taught that by october 1 or 2 1914, satan was waging war with michael and he was thrown to the vicinity of the earth.
that is why since 1914 we have such a short time left.....how do they get these crazy dates and how can people believe this if they really think about it?

John 3:16 - "believe" or "exercise faith?" Same thing?
by Faithful Witness ini recently asked my jw mother, if she believed that jesus died for her sins.
(john 3:16).
she agreed, but then added the jw party line, "you have to exercise faith also.

Faith should move one to 'works" is what the bible is saying, but 'works' is not going out in service and making oneself a slave to the WT 'works' = fruitage of the spirit. love, kindness, etc.

Heathen; you got it wrong, the stuff Jesus was talking about in the first part of the Olivet, is the NOT sign, meaning these thing will take place and already have throught history dont let it distract you. Ephians 1:20-23 clearly states that jesus had all power and authority in heaven and was sitting at gods right hand head of the church etc. Theres also a scripture can't remember where, it is at this moment that Jesus right before he dies says 'now Satan will be cast out'. Both in Acts and in Matt Jesus when he returns reserected tells the apostles he has been given all power and authority. Statan was throw out of heaven in the first century. 1914 has no relevence what so ever!!

Where you the door knocker encourager in your congregation?
by jam into be honest i figured until i received some pleasure, enjoyment.
in waking people up on their day off, there was no way i was going.
to pressure anyone else to do the same.

yeah 40 years of going door to door and one of the last times I found someone that was really interested, his family just stop attending another church and was seriouly interested. I got excited and was able to place the Bible teach book. Went back a few times and when i finnally found him home he said that he wasnt interested because with small children he wasnt going to give up birthdays etc. I later thought 'this man turned down a life saving opportunity from Jah because of a man made rule to not celebrate birthdays, what a bunch of crap! I was done. Not to mention the gospel of the JW's is cursed according to Paul because its not the same gospel of the apostles.

WT gearing up to dump Russell and come clean on early history?

they seem to be talking about the early days on a very regular basis, almost constantly.
the change to fds happens and this involved a dive into early history and a few knocks on russell.

What's scary is they can do whatever they want and the rank and file will just go along. They proved this in 1995 with the change in 'This Generation'. That was a really bad attempt to buy themselves more time and anyone with any kind of understanding of language and grammar should of figured that out but only a couple hundred thousand left. So now they can say Aliens did it or go ahead and drink the koolaid and they will be lining up for the cups.
