The borg says stay off of apostate websites, but they themselves go these websites to see the critical thinking. Then make adjustments that why they all have dropped the pinky rings. Herd will probably not be seen with his role in the future either.

How long until the "Generation" gets Revised/Dropped?

if you don't already know this; the latest revision of the insight book has no mention of the "overlapping generation" bs online library, insight book .

obviously that change will not bee seen by the vast majority of people, so when will this "brighter light" shine through in a wt or assembly talk?

predictions?.

I think this is another reason why thier pushing to get as much money as they can now. They are reinventing themselves and when it's over they know they will be a shadow of thier former selves as far as size and income.

They have really laid the ground work and are eliminating almost all doctrine that can be scrutinized. I guess it will become a touchy feely religion with nothing but godly principles to talk about.

A big hello and thank you

i just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).

i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.

my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.

Son's new friend a JW

my son was never a jw.

he was born about a dozen years after i left.

but he's heard about it from me and knows i was one.. recently he has a new best friend at school.

Wife just went to circuit meeting

hi, for a couple of months now.

i stopped (after some 17 years) visiting meetings etc.

my intellect and conscience could not longer stand the lectures from the platform and in the magazines.

I think a lot of marriages end because the mate that left is marginalised and is no longer looked at in any good way. Who would want to be married to an evil apostate, that left Jehovah and eats at the table of demons

Rumor about the Imitate Jesus Convention

i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.

This cult has always spoke out both sides of thier mouths. I can see them stating something of the effect about not shunning at the convention for public propaganda reasons and then turn right around in in the next month's WT state all sorts of reminder why you should not associate with someone. So shunning gone but stricter association rules more stringent. Plus I think a lot of rank and file like the shunning it makes them feel superior.

imagine that the cult decided to stop shunning family members on the proviso that the dfd person was not actively trying to attack the cult.. (please don't debate whether or not this is likely - it's hypothetical).

how would you respond to your family?.

personally i think i would be less than cooperative.
