Did Jehovah really order the excution of men, women, and children in the land of Canaan?
by John Aquila ini been researching information on why the the conquest of canaan could not be a real historical account.
i found this on barts blog:.
when considering the historicity of the narratives of joshua, the first thing to re-emphasize is that these are not accounts written by eyewitnesses or by anyone who knew an eyewitness.

As for the book of Daniel, look at the oldest Bible ever written the septuigent in there you'll find that there's missing writings not included in the newer Bibles and there's also the story of Bel and the Dragon. Read these and then tell me this is not more stuff written about old Sumerian mythology. -

Has any apostate ever lied at a JC about being apostate?
by purrpurr ini watched/ listened to the brave and courageous souls on youtube who bravely recorded their jc's.
you really see a different and horrid side to the elders there.
it might sound whimpy but i don't think i would be able to stand strong like those guys did.

I no longer believe the Bible to be the word of God but I have a way better understanding of what the new testament writers were going for. And I can tell you in all certainty it's the elders that are the apostates. -

Not to step on calibinflorida, but most of the writings were taken from non Jewish sources. Example, most of the ten commandments come from the negative confessions from the Book of the Dead. Scriptures in proverbs and psalms come from Egypt and Assyria. There are even scriptures that refer to the god of the writer as being RA the sun God of Egypt. The stories like those about the flood are copied from Sumeria where the gods being discussed are the gods Enki and Enlil. Same with the stories about Adam, the garden of eden and the tower of babel, all originally Sumerian /Akkadian stories.
So sorry to rain on your parade calibfromflorida, but the Jews just stole these writings to make a history for themselves, even king David and Solomon are just legends they never really existed. And God's temple that Solomon supposedly built was almost an exact replica of a temple at Arn Dara. Everything about the Bible is a fraud and so was this so called ancient nation of Israel.

These stories many of them were written while they the Jews were in captivity in Babylon. Maybe they were written for political reasons or to keep the race together who knows but most were just stories. The early stories like those in Genesis were written by Sumerians and babylonians and the Jews just took them and made them thier own. So again who knows thier motives. -

How to get JWs to listen and REALLY think about TTATT...
by C0ntr013r ini have been trying to discuss and reason with jws about their beliefs for some time now and it usually ends in "agree to disagree".
i just don't feel like i am getting anywhere, they get their guard up super easy and will dismiss anything no matter how logical or factual.. so the other day i tried another tactic, instead of arguing for another point of view i started to agree with them.
this made them much more talkative and open, their guard went away somewhat.

I think your way just adds to thier delusion. Asking questions to get them to think maybe the only way to wake one up. In most cases they still will not wake up unless they are experiencing some emotional trauma that gets them to question things. That's what happened to me and a friend I helped wake up. -

Don't you know dating is a sin. Your supposed to find the woman you want, rape her pay off the father with a silver coin and make her your wife. -

Archeologists have come to the conclusion that most of the people we refure to as Israelites were in fact cannaanites with possible mix of some refugee of other races settling into the area. One 1century historian stated that the Hycsos (I spelled it wrong) settled in the area of Jerusalem. Other groups may have also settled in the area. But one thing is for sure the area known as Judea did not have the population to be a mighty kingdom like that of David. It was only after the Assyria conquered the northern kingdom that people fled south driving up the population of Judea. -

Today's text--Jehovah, the 'Impartial' God
by sd-7 in"jehovah your god...treats none with partiality."--deut.
10:17.. "impartiality is one of jehovah's endearing qualities.
" <--yes, between that and his tendency towards genocidal warfare, i don't know what makes me love him more.

Yes even the NT God shows no favoritism yet according to the GB he favors only 144k souls all others are pathetic jonadabs with one foot still stuck in Satan's world. These non favored 144k are to be looked at as kings and then there's even another group that's been exalted to Christ like status call the faithful and discreet slave. These non favored are to be practically worshiped. Yep no favoritism at all in God's organization. -
