  jesus spoke of loving your enemy, matt.5:43, luke 6:26, but look what is said in.

  mark 16:51,16 "go preach but who ever does not believe his ass will be set on fire".. i don't think that is good news.

  hell if that is love, what the hell is hate.

  being raised a catholic we had lots of crosses around the house.

  when my family converted to this cult they were all removed and destroyed in case they had demons in them lol but at this juncture in my life i do not even know if jesus as the way he is portrayed in the bible was real.

  yes a man named jesus did live and die 2000 years ago and probably on a cross but he was definitely not the son of god.

  John 20:25 says that Thomas wanted to see the wholes in Jesus hands made by the nails, plural. So according to that verse unless Jesus was double tapped in one pole ,the writer wanted him on a cross. Anyway I like you believe it to be just a story, if not Jesus is a liar like his father

  i recently started working at a goodwill here in wisconsin, and i've never encountered more witnesses ever in my life.

  every time i go to work, i see at least two or three people that i used to go to the kingdom hall with getting suits, dresses, etc.

  some of them say hi, but some of them i just ignore, or they ignore me.

  has anyone come across this line of research on the new testament?

  i stumbled upon it today researching the divine name, and textual criticism of the nt.

  it seems that the peshitta is an aramaic translation that has been handed down through the centuries without the controversies of the greek translation.

  i realize that rutherford received a flash of light regarding the identity of the gc in the year 1935, but that does not tell us when the crowd began to form.

  what would be the earliest date?

  myelaine , I was in error, I was thinking about Rev 5:9-10 where it describes the great crowd as the ones that would reign on earth not the 144k because their described again at Rev 7:9, these scriptures are a throw back to the old testament at Exodus chapter 19 where Israel becomes a holy nation. The 144k maybe not included in this or anyway maybe a different group or subgroup with in the great crowd. Some say they represent the singers that went before the army. Anyway I was thinking on a different line of thought on my previous posts.

  Yes there are contradictions between what Paul supposedly wrote and what Jesus supposedly said. This is not the point the original poster was trying to make to this elder. Bottom line is this Paul would have been dfd by the GB today.

  i don't have the exact articles offhand but russell taught the jews would be grouped back and have israel again.

  after he died and rutherfords failed predictions, he decided to cut that belief saying it was all symbolic.

  they dropped that belief then it ends up happening.

  Good point, it's funny how they thought this guy was so great yet most don't know he said in one of his books holy spirit no longer works he got his information directly from angel's.
