Some amazing insights on why the the name Jehovah is no more used in the new testament scriptures
by paradisebeauty ini read this blog post by a person i have no idea if she is still a jw or not, but it made me think and gain some new perspective on using the divine name.
please read it if you can, it will change your view!
and it totally devalidates the jw dogma that they are the only ones using god's name, no, they are actually orphans.

Phizzy, it's my understanding that they have never found the actual name of Yahweh at Ugarit just a couple of letters that some believed maybe the start of his name but others believe it was actually the name of Yamm thier sea God. One found translation of Duet.32:8 seems to indicate that Yahweh got his inheritance from El or Elyon but no one knows for sure. Some also believe that the God Elyon is a higher deity then El. One thing to consider is El had 70 children and in the Bible their are stories of the patriarch's having 70 children, more links to El. Gideon is one example. -

Phizzy, in the Ugaritic texts the only gods that had the same descriptions as the god in the bible were Baal and El. They also had the same consorts Asherah and Anat. According to the writings found there El was the high god of the pantheon but later Baal takes over as the god most revered. Most likely because he was the fertility god as well as the rain god. He after supplanting El, takes the same consorts as El and also takes on several of the same characteristics as El. There are so many names and places named after El and Baal that its almost certain that these are the gods the IsraElites worshipped and Yahweh was just another manifestation of these gods not an altogether new god or son of El. Of course we can't be absolutely for certain of this.
Its my opinion that at some time a priestly group living in Jerusalem was trying to get people to only worship their god (monotheism) so they could benefit financial much like the priests in Egypt and this is why they railed against Baal, not their chosen god. There's evidence that the god they chose may have been in fact an Egyptian god.
Recently a royal bula or seal impression was discovered of Hezekiah's, one of gods supposedly good kings. The impression showed two Egyptians Ankh's and a symbol of a sun disk with wings, this is the symbol of the Egyptian god RA. -

People also need to know that several gods in the Levant names we're spelled in Hebrew with only three letters similar to the tetrogramaton, YHD, ywh, yhu, yam etc. Also the oldest found writings of the tetrogramaton was also only three letters.
To this day experts are still fighting over who this God Jehovah really is. Did he start out as El, become Baal then get switched to another God by the Jews? Is he one of the sons of El? Its anyone's guess, so gods doing a piss poor job of making his name known.

The article in my opinion is just a different view and excuse to why the Hebrew name for their God is not in the NT. What the writer fails to realize is the NT writers we're promoting Jesus as the new God and could care less about an old one. -

On the Yearbook's Report(Again)
by Alex Bryant inhello.
i have a question about the number of publishers reported on the yearbook.
i was wondering if this number refers only to the number of publishers baptized or to the overall number of publisher(baptized & not baptized).

The number baptized and alive is probably around 5 million, take out the ones only reporting 15 minutes or so and loose another 500k +. -

The jw.org billions
by Gorbatchov in.
it is still strange, that an organization, lead by a group of old timers, is gaining billions at the moment, without giving any transparency and accountancy feedback, because these men "trust each other", and come away with that.. they got the property investment by the use of cohi associates, and deposit their liquid assets at the caymans.. it is clear: the real power behind the jw.org facade is securing his future.. don't get me wrong, i'm not insane, but more and more i got this strong gut feeling that some governmental organization has the real power.. gorby.

These gb are just puppets other have said and written that there we're or are ones behind the curtain. Its also obvious that they the Borg do use a try to move politicians to do things for them. The fact that they we're a member of the UN and OSCE confirms this. But this is a small religion with not a lot of money until now and only to do real estate sales. I don't think they are being controlled by any government. -

Money Grab started in India
by cognitivedizzy ini don't know how the fellow who made the resolution from stage to send 80% of the congregation funds to the indian branch as an outright donation made it with a straight face.
and all the sheeples nodded like they understood the shit he were spewing.
i'm so mad at this cult .

What are you talking about it was said here that the Indian branch is closing and no more money is being sent to India, no more printing or product being sent their either. They have stopped all support for the Indian JWs they are on their own. Are you stating that this is incorrect? -

Should doctors tell JW patients that there is disagreement about Watchtower's blood policy.
by Lee Elder inthis has been a controversial issue among doctors and medical ethicists.
i think it basically comes down to the fact that physicians have a responsibility to establish the presence of informed consent.
is it really possible for a person to give informed consent if they are not accurately informed?.

I think the doctor should be proactive and try to educate his patient. He could inform them that in every drop of breast milk there's 1 million white blood cells, so if God really said not to eat blood the way the WT says then why is there blood in the milk. And if your to pour out your blood again like the WT says then why do they allow blood fractions which are obtained from donated blood. These are questions and comments that may get a JW thinking, and the doctor could finish off by saying "are you really sure your leader's are correct on this matter so much so that your willing to die? Because in 1967 they told their followers not to have organ transplants even if it meant death, then 13 years later they changed their minds"
As the doctor I would hope this would get the patient thinking and then do to the pressure of imminent death maybe change their minds after planting these doubts.

The story of my exit
by mrsObfuscate ini have been lurking here for about 6 months, and being the last day of the year, and ready to start the new one afresh, i want to share the story of our exit from the org.
i have found the personal experiences of others of immeasurable value, (and its been a while since a good exit story has been posted) that i hope this can be of benefit to at least someone.. .
my mother became a jehovahs witness when i was about 9 or 10. i remember initially hating all of the new sanctions put on our lives (no birthdays and christmas anymore) but for some reason i soon after joined her in attending the meetings and eventually got baptized at the age of 14. my staunch catholic father converted a couple of years later.
