They never talk about the UN anymore, so that's bizarre. Sounds like thier rebooting all the scare tactics from previous decades.

I really really hate this religion
by BlackSwan of Memphis ingetting back here, getting on to some fb groups and reading stories, meeting new people it's mind blowing the callous crap that these men are allowed to get away with.
i mean i get that religion in general can be considered bad all around, but i have friends who are religious and no, none of them have seen this type of callous disregard for humanity come from religion.
not on this level.

Well they took out 'loving kindness' from Micah 6:8 and replaced it with loyalty to the Borg. What a wonderful cult, so full of love, NOT!

Something to that effect. Anyway the shunning stopped maybe because my sister was never baptized. What do you think the masses will do to inactive ones that aren't doing anything wrong , shun or not? Will this horrible policy work or backfire?

JW TV, this month about evolution
by bohm inthis month the last segment is about evolution.
one is with a sister with a university education in biochemistry who (presumably) teaches at a highschool or public school.
she says that left handedness of amino acids indicates life was created because "if it was a random process half would be right handed and half left handed" (paraphrased).

Has anyone check to see if these quotes were taken out of context.

Are we sure that there aren't more 'compound'-ish structures?
by BlackSwan of Memphis inwasn't sure where to put this but .... .
so mr bsom and i got to talking and we got to wondering if there aren't other compound like buildings being structured, or if assembly halls have been built with greater living quarters?
the entirety of this situation is really beginning to shape up like the davidians or jim jones.
-

Come on get real this assembly is designed to the the rank and file all worked up again . Got get them moving and going out in service and giving more money and not paying attention to reality. Then they will let them e settle down a bit in a few years then work them up again. Rinse and repeat rinse and repeat.

JWs aren't stupid
by cognisonance inthe title is a bit of click bait.
but here's the alternative title: what stupid beliefs/ideas did you have while an active jw.. i think the majority of jws that don't have obvious mental health issues are not stupid, just un/under-educated.
for example, i now accept evolution as a thing, not a controversy or conjecture.
-

According to the latest Pew survey JWs are some of the least educated people in the USA so I think if someone wants to call them stupid it's ok.

What Religious Trajectory Are The JWs Following?
by millie210 ini was reading another thread and the comments got me thinking.... https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5656910430732288/pictures-tell-thousand-words.
comments such as oldskools: more like digital colonialism channeled through one of the weaker and less important institutions western society has to offer.. .
some have compared the orgs future path to the world wide church of gods.

Fundamentalist Christians like those that protest outside during soldiers funerals here in the United States.

Today's WT. Jephthah's Daughter - Virgin Slave or Crispy Critter?
by Slidin Fast ini whiled away the time today in the wt researching the above question on line.
it seems to me that there is more evidence to say that the account simply depicts the poor nameless child/woman as being toast.
the idea of her going into "tabernacle service" is completely fabricated and has no basis in scripture.
-
Crazyguy
Yeah the scriptures clearly say she was toast. I don't think there was any evidence that she could work at the tabernacle since she was female. Maybe as a prostitue at the temple of ashurah. But no evidence of woman working at the tabernacle or later fictitious temple of Solomon.
