  SCRIPTURE TO READ TO JWs

  two jws came to my door recently.

  i asked one of them to read ecclesiastes 9:5 for me.

  i then asked them if all living jws are knowing or believing or are conscious that they will die.

  Just whip out John chapter 3 and ask them how they think thier going to ever see the kingdom when Jesus says only those born again will? Then read 15 where he says that every one that believes in him has life and ask them why they call Jesus a liar because they teach that only jws will have life?

  Then if they still wish to proceed ask them if they believe the writer of second Timothy was inspired , when they say yes turn to 1timothy 2 starting in verse 5 where it says Jesus was the mediator for all mankind and the read on to show he was the ransom for all as well. Then ask , since your leaders say Jesus is only the mediator and ransomed for just them but the bible says all mankind , they must be liars again right?

  Convention Weirdness

  well i just got back from 3 days in hell, and geez was this convention strange or what?

  im sure someone's probably made a topic about this already but i can't believe that there weren't any new releases besides the movies.

  has that ever happened before?

  Not shunning even after the regional

  so i have been told that a bro i know that is df is being greeted even after the convention on shunning he finds it refreshing that witnesses can use their own conscience seeing that shunning is not a law but a principle that only a privilege that applies only to antichrist some still do not believe in shunning even after that talk i happened to be at a regional on sat gb member went off subject and started to expane why a patent must shun the child nobody clapped ..

  Great to hear, what part of the world are you in? I know where I'm at the people would probably give him a standing ovation. I think the Latin crowd is less likely to shun.

  Is Knowing/Using The Name Of God Important?

  i say no.. although the tetragrammaton appears close to 7000 times in the hebrew scriptures, the personal name of god does not.

  seems to me that god made sure that both that his personal name does not appear therein and that no one would ever actually know it or learn even how to pronounce it.

  he also made sure that his name (baring 3 hallelujahs in revelation) did not appear in the new testament.

  I believe early Christians were making Jesus the new God. He was exalted and became the alpha and omega. Many Gods in other pantheons were lesser gods then promoted to top spot. Other gods once they assumed the top spot also took on the attributes of the gods they replaced. Horus got RAs power when his mother tricked RA. Marduk just took the power and absorbed the other gods so to speak. Zeus was another good example.

  In the Canaanite pantheon El was the top God but Baal took over. Thier is ample evidence that Jesus was a mix of Serapis, Baal, Zeus , Horus and others. I think this was done as a way of attracting the masses of pagans in the empire to one God.

  We can also see evidence of this in the Jewish God. He takes on the attributes and writings about him were also taken from writings about other gods. Marduk , Ashur, RA etc. in fact the Bulla that was discovered and shown to the world last year, Hezekias bulla had a symbol of RA on it. RA was the top God of the Egyptians and Hezekia was an ally of Egypt. So this evidence proves that the Jews were not monotheistic and the top God they worship wasn't always jehovah.

  41 and a woman no offense but the odds of getting married are against you and if your fishing only in the JW pond your odds are even worse. Go try to find a decent guy and marry him then if you want to go back to the cult do so after your married. Just my opinion..

  “who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?

  - matthew 24:45. let's be honest, the faithful and discreet slave logically cannot refer to any and every christian.

  this is not merely an encouragement for all christians to prove themselves faithful and discreet.

  hello everyone, it's been quite a while since i was last on this forum.

  originally i was under a different user name, but lost all that information when i moved to a different state.

  anyways, i had left the jws back in 2001, after being raised up in it most of my childhood life.

  I would go make as though your going to leave then don't but instead put up signs quoting things from the bible about love not judging or exalting and all that believe in Jesus are saved, that kinda stuff. I would do all I could to embarrass the evil JW family including letting everyone else know that thier teachings are that all attending will die at Armageddon simply because thier not JWs.

  Calling All Who Were JWs Between 1967 and 1980

  hello jwn,.

  to introduce myself, i am still in the jws but learned ttatt some months ago.

  i now ask this question to get more info on a past teaching.. between 1967 and 1980 was when the 'current understanding' of the wts was that organ transplants were cannibalism, and thus abhorrent.

  I remember how if you got a transplant you would take on the personality of the donor. Crazy stuff, but don't remember what would happen to those that got a transplant.
