They always write as though King Solomon really existed. Hezzekia bulla shows that he was connected with Egypt . The scriptures about Josia talks about how the king of Egypt warned him to not attack him that God was with him , so again it's speaking as though both rulers had the same God. The temple of Solomon if built was very similar to several in Egypt and others considered in the Egyptian empire.

Another Egyptian relic discovered at Hazor, northern Israel
by fulltimestudent init doesn't look significant, but it is - the jerusalem post reports:.
the finding – coupled with a sphinx fragment of the egyptian king mycerinus (who ruled egypt in the 25th century bce), discovered at the site by the research team three years ago – are the only monumental egyptian statues found so far in second millennium contexts in the entire levant.the discovery of these two statues in the same building currently being excavated by the research team indicates the special importance of the building, which was likely the administrative palace of the ruler of the city, as well as that of the entire city of hazor.shlomit bechar, a doctoral student at the institute of archaeology, who has been excavating at hazor for a decade, is the dig’s co-director, and oversees the main excavation area.during the course of nearly 30 years of excavations, fragments of 18 different egyptian statues – both royal and private – dedicated to egyptian kings and officials, including two sphinxes, were discovered at hazor.“most of these statues were found in layers dated to the late bronze age (15th-13th centuries bce), corresponding to the new kingdom in egypt,” said ben-tor.“this is the largest number of egyptian statues found so far in any site in the land of israel, although there is no indication that hazor was one of the egyptian strongholds in southern canaan, nor of the presence of an egyptian official at hazor during the late bronze age.”ben-tor added that most egyptian statues found at hazor date to egypt’s “middle kingdom” (19th-18th centuries bce), a time when hazor did not yet exist.“it thus seems that the statues were sent by an egyptian king in the ‘new kingdom’ as official gifts to the king of hazor, or as dedications to a local temple, regardless of their already being ‘antiques,’” he said.“this is not surprising, considering the special status of the king of hazor, who was the most important king in southern canaan at the time.
the extraordinary importance of hazor in the 15th-13th centuries bce is indicated also by the biblical reference to hazor as ‘the head of all those kingdoms’ (joshua 11:10).”all the statues at the site were found broken into pieces and scattered over a large area, he noted.“clear signs of mutilation indicate that most of them were deliberately and violently smashed, most probably in the course of the city’s final conquest and destruction sometime in the 13th century b.c.e,” said ben-tor.“the deliberate mutilation of statues of kings and dignitaries accompanying the conquest of towns is a well-known practice in ancient times (i samuel 5:1-4; isaiah 11:9), as well as in our time.”the hazor excavations, which began in the mid-1950s under the direction of the late professor yigael yadin, are carried out on behalf of hu.

So what you're saying is now thier nice to you and talk with you? I would think after the convention the exact opposite would be in order.

The Elders want to meet with me and the hubby... Lol lol lol
by Sevan inso the elders called wanting to meet with me and my husband.
most likely because i told a concerned jw friend of mine that i really care about that i wasn't coming back and a couple of the issues i had.
i didn't bring up any so-called "apostate" information, just told her about the australian royal commission and that there are a lot of unscriptural teachings and that the gb apply scriptures that are about jehovah and jesus to themselves, which is idolatry.

My daughter has real health problems and my wife was trying to raise some money to help us get her treatment. A few people in the hall donated but very little except for a couple of her close friends. I didn't really care as most jws are poor anyway but the elders, not one donated crap!!!

It is absolutely galling to me that my wife submits herself to this madness
by jambon1 ini've tried to get over this, i honestly have.
since i stopped my kids going to meetings, things have gotten a little better.. but knowing the content of the convention programme that she was subjected to on friday, it amazes me and greatly annoys me that she goes back for more, today.
for her to sit there watching those crazy, fear mongering bunker videos.

I have heard from a JW spy that's in bethel that it's about the toes of the statue in Daniel and that they because of new light now believe they the toes do actually represent something and that they will tell us at the annual meeting. But in order to find out one must be an approved JW in good standing and invited to be apart of the annual meeting.

Brother & Sister-in-Law Return to Kingdom Hall After Two Decades, Quickly Get Stumbled
by TMS init was a mild surprise, learning that a brother and sister-in-law had began re-associating with jehovah's witnesses after at least 25 years of being away.
the couple, of hispanic ethnicity, are in their early 60's, with their five children all grown and independent.
the family had been considered nominal jws, infrequently attending meetings, rarely in field service, but using the annual convention as their family vacation.

I just saw this on Kim Mikey you tube channel.
by joe134cd ini just saw this on the link below.. https://youtu.be/tigp4huuigy.
the question that's raised is.
why would wt want to use a 3rd party in order to recieve donations.

I agree with what was posted above. This move is designed to hide money from attornies that will be suing them over pedophila . Dispite what has been said on other threads the only real fear the cult has is of people leaving and thier money being taken away via lawsuits.

Could we use the new shunning guidelines to our advantage?
by Island Man inaccording to new, officially published guidelines, jws can now shun a person who has not been disfellowshipped from the congregation.
i see this guideline being abused by many jws who have an axe to grind with a fellow jw.
for example, let's say sister peinindiass rubs sister sensitive the wrong way.

The new guidelines are to shun unrepentant wrong doers. This is designed to alienate more people that are not in the cult. To many inactive faders are waking up jws so this was put in place to try to stop the bleeding. The simple fact is most faders are shunned by non family members anyway .

Help Me Regain Contact With My Still In Family

I also agree with breakfast, If they shun you then no way should you ever let your children visit them. Tell them that Jesus teachings were in no way as evil as the cults when it comes to treating non believers or those that found out thier religion is a lying abusive cult.

I often think that I should have never left , faked it and worked on getting my family to think for themselves and be better people then the cult would make them. Teach them better values from the bible and real love. Also the real history of the religion planting seeds all the time. You have to way your options and see what will work best for you. This is a long war were battling and thinking about and planning the long strategy is what it's all about .
The cult wins when we're emotional, react quickly, etc. play the long game and chances are better on our side. If one is dfd or dAs then your cut off so your influence is minimal for the ones still in. You'll be able to maybe Influence your kids and maybe a mate but unless a JW is willing to talk your not going to help anyone else in the cult, that's the reality.
