  Meeting Attendance levels

  i attended a sunday meeting today after missing a couple due to a bout of chronic apathy.

  out of 74 publishers we had a grand total of 33. wonderful.

  for those that attend, how are you finding the numbers?.

  My former congregation has a lot of members and most go. I think it has to do with social reasons more then anything else. Plus the demographics in that congregation are all about the same. Most everyone there is poor , stupid, and a little off mentally, so it's the perfect hall for the cult. It even attracts members from outside the territory in fact I'd say half are not assigned there.

  In the other hand the other congregation that shares the hall is clickish and has more of a mix of people and only around 40 people show to a meeting .

  I think that poster that says thier studying to try to gain and advantage has hit the nail on the head. They will study if they think they get something in return.

  I grew up in an area where there was a lot of refugees from south eastern Asian. My mother studied for a long time with a woman and her family from this area. She was nice but didn't progress. They mentioned how other churches were sponsoring refugees to get them into the USA then helped them get on thier feet expecting these ones to stay in that church with thier family's forever. Since the jws don't help people monetarily they can only dream of getting these people to join.

  very stressfull and upsetting evening was had last night.

  i dropped my 2yo daughter off to my ex-wifes home.

  all seemed good until i got home.

  Yep when you leave the lies start flying around like you wouldn't believe. My wife did the same called me an apostate just for asking some questions about doctrine and then things just got worse. She implied to her friends that I was having sex at a massage parlor, that was the worse lie I know about. Sorry for your situation with your daughter. Call an attorney if you can for some help with visitation.

  i registered in the board and i wanted to present myself.. i used to visit this forum some time ago and even register an account but then i tried to convince myself all was ok in the congregation.

  now, i'm coming back :).

  i live in a southern european nation, i'm a young jw, a good example in the congregation serving as a regular pioneer and ms. for all in the congregation i'm the good guy, one of the best examples in the area i live.

  Just take it slow and make moves like a chess player thinking out every move. I went fast and have regretted it ever since. Your on the right track , do things that benefit you and not the cult.

  I think that people in the cult with family can and should stay in but live to be happy and only give the cult lip service. If and when people push you or criticize you, you can always give examples in the Bible or of past jws to show your living a mature wise life style. Welcome again to this forum!

  I can't see any Muslims converting. Not only are they shunned but they can also be killed, they loose everything. It definitely worse then jw shunning.

  has anybody else noticed that almost all the jdubs are super arrogant?

  i mean even from just the basic ones to especially the elders and the overseers omg.

  they act like they are so high and mighty that you should just worship them.

  Yeah when I was at the last year or so of being still a sleep I ask the cobe to be put on the school. Seemed like a nice guy and I was getting only about 6-7 hours of service but was volunteering and answering at the meetings. This I thought was another atttempt by me to show progression. Months went by and nothing in response about being allowed on the school. In the end I guess I still wasn't good enough. The whole cult is about power and show.

  Has the rebranding worked?

  it's been several years since the start of the rebranding of jehovahs witnesses.

  i believe it started with the website change.

  ever since then the religion has moved in a more modern direction.

  I don't think it was a rebranding at all. Most of the changes were because of need from out side pressures. The midweek meeting changed because they had to drop the school. The carts were done to keep people busy and to probably help shield jws from people that would question them and give them trouble. Of course the website again designed to keep those in in.

  All thier changes were forced on them by outside issues just like liquidating thier assets in New York caused mostly the need to hide thier money from the attorneys.
