Questions for the Biblical God
by Saethydd ini consider myself an agnostic, i feel no sense of certainty that there is a single all-powerful creator who made the entire universe, and yet i must acknowledge that the universe is a large place that is filled with much beauty so the possibility of an intelligent mind being behind it is certainly there.
lately, however, i do have more and more doubts about the god of the bible being a candidate for that all-powerful creator should such a being even exist at all.. these doubts are founded upon a number of questions for which i have never found any satisfying biblical or logical answer.
instead, i was simply chided with the remark that "god's actions aren't always meant to be understood by humans," which i found to be a very unsatisfying answer.

Why would gods most current teachings and his holy book be a copy or at the very least take teachings and actions from older pagan religions? And why would god inspire a book that's has so many contradictions and prophecies that didn't come true?
And going along with your last question, God promises a peace of land to Abraham and his offspring filled with milk and honey. Yet it's really a mostly arid hilly country which requires seasonal rain yet still has problems producing any meaningful crops in most areas. Yet all the while in lands just to the East and west there are massive rivers that create crop lands as far and the eye can see?

Garden of Eden
by Onager inwhere is the garden of eden?.
i don't mean where in the world, i mean where in history.
adam and eve get booted out of this place.

People have thought the garden was in turkey based on a couple of verses in the Bible but older writings put it just south of Kuwait

Jeremiah 10:23 - "...It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step."
by HereIgo ini have been accused recently of "trying to direct my own step" because of my questioning the org and refusing to come back to the "truth" for the past 6 years.
i personally still believe in god, i just doubt that he is behind the jw org, that's all.
why is that so hard for jw's to understand?

1john I believe says to check the inspired word and make sure of all things and Jeremiah chapter 14 talks about a wise person becomes righteous. Bottom line if you don't direct your own step then someone will. Someone who claims he's directed from god but time always proves them wrong and time is something you don't have!

If the Faithful and Discreet Slave is Biblically based, shouldn't its term of indenture be long over?
by kepler inwell, we start out with a parable which in the kjv reads "well done, o good and faithful servant", corrected to be a slave and one of significant authority akin to the "fisherman" or the shepherd.
moreover it is collective.
and it didn't know it was discrete until after attorney moyle was told by rutherford that he talked too much.

The Faithful slave comment in the Bible was a question and a parable nothing more. More importantly why were they discussing slaves? Why would the son of god condone slavery? Ever notice slavery is never said to be bad by any apostle or prophet or son of a god? What the hell? I'm personally against slavery and think it's evil!

Jesus not perfect and here's why.
by Crazyguy inthe bible is a inspired book of god and like and elder told me when i was young , there's no contradictions in the bible and all the prophecies have come true except the two or three that are supposed to come true in the future.
so with that said the messiah jesus christ himself must not be perfect and here's why.
in mark chapter 2 jesus is telling his followers that it's ok to pick wheat on the sabbath and mentions the story about david eating bread that was in the holy place ment only for the priests to use.

Its obvious that the author screwed up but let's not forget what we were taught that the Bible is gods infallible word.

Well if you go to 1 Samuel chapter 21 you'll see that the high priest name was Ahimelech.
So I guess Jesus was imperfect not the true messiah after all and now we know why the Jews are still waiting.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

I just had to brothers approach me at a gas station and one pulled out a mini track and invited me to their hall. This track was micro small , fit in the palm of my hand small. That's the future of thier congregations, micro contradictions.

Another thing most Christians don't realize is that the Egyptian empire ruled over they area called Israel up in to northern Lebanon and at times as Far East as the Euphrates river. They have found Egyptian artifacts all over this area and the Armana letters confirm this as well. So when Moses left Egypt he took gods people and went to Egypt.
