Do You Think Many Jehovah’s Witnesses Truly Believe?

i did for many years even if i had doubts that i would put on the back burner.

but i thought the majority of witnesses believed, even if they were “weak” in the faith.. obviously, we have elders , pioneers and ministerial servants that are here and they are not true believers.. do you think many jws simply do not believe what they are preaching?

What is the most troubling or disturbing biblical passage you ever had to rationalise when a Jw?

now that we have stepped away from the jw faith, how do you feel about the bible itself?.

what about those awkward sections of scripture?

how did you rationalise or justify those sections?.

Where the great Jah tortures David son to death over a 7 day and night period of time for something his father did for David’s son is just a new born baby!

Another one I found a couple of years ago is in Ephesians where it says the Jah “like the sweet smell of his sons burnt flesh or sacrifice “ can’t remember the exact words. Disgusting!!!

To big to fail

some people think the watchtower is to big to fail.

i dont because a lot of the branch offices around the world (about 70 i think) are in the third world they are not paying the full cost of running them and so the american branch is having to find the money,so if they got $1 billion dollars betwwen 70 branches that is only$ 25 million a year.per branch.if each branch has 500 people working there and they spend just $1 a day for food each person that works out at £35,000 just for the food alone .

The masses of JWs are so deluded they’ll support them forever , the only thing that’s could derail this is if the child abuse scandal gets even bigger, which may happen. As of now most JWs don’t even know there is a child abuse scandal.

i have noticed a paradigm shift on this site .

we used to be able to express opposing viewpoints without being subjected to name calling and censorship.

i wish we could return to how the board used to function.

It’s good to not get involved with political discussions on boards like this one. In the end those people running the board will sensor those that don’t agree with them, happens just about every time. That’s why I like to stay on JWs subjects or ones that could effect the JWs discussion because in the end isn’t that what this forum is all about?

I saw The Last Jedi yesterday ... spoilers!

yeah i saw ep 8 tlj yesterday.. first off, the special effects - a combination of cgi and practical - are fantastic, although with a budget of $200 million i expect them to be.. there are many issues i have with this movie and here's one: leia flying through space, i mean, wtf?!.

yes, we know leia is luke's brother and so has some force-sensitivity - she talked telepathically to luke in the empire strikes back.. apart from that, she's never really used any abilities she may have or been taught the ways of the force ... and now she's flying through space!

Will The Governing Body's Shunning Policy Backfire On Them Eventually?

we all can agree that the disfellowshipping arrangement benefits the wt corporation by keeping the indoctrinated in servitude, make members afraid to doubt the corporation's teachings and explanations because they can be disfellowshipped for saying anything negative about the corporation or it's ceos or not agreeing with some new light.. but what about negative effects caused by the harsh use of disfellowshipping to the corporation, what could they be?

it's a two edged sword..

Do older faders fear better than younger faders

i read and replied to a post today about weather there were any benefits in been a jw.

as much as i now dislike the religion, i had to agree that there was an up side, due to their strong stance on alcohol, gambling, smoking, and sexual practice.

we would all agree that these can be terrible vices that can get out of control.. i was at one point a true believer, who believed in these rules, and to a point have benefited from abstaining from these practices.

There a 100,000s of millions even billions of people living there lives chasing thier dreams with out getting into crazy sex practices doing drugs gambling or drinking excessive amounts of booze. I would have loved to never been a jw and been able to chase my dreams!!!

"This Good news Of The Kingdom Will Be Preached In All The Inhabited Earth" ........

..".for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come" .matt.24:14.. the religion of jehovah`s witnesses kid themselves into thinking they are filling or have fulfilled this prophecy/scripture .. given that you take the jehovah`s witnesses and the international bible students association as one and the same religion , then they have been preaching their message primarily within lands that are predominantly christian based.....and certainly do not cover "all the inhabited earth " as their are many populous non christian nations nations that do not allow, even forbid any proselytizing in their lands.

i would estimate about one third of the current world population.. but that is not all .. given that you take the jehovah`s witnesses and the international bible students association as one and the same religion ,then they have about 140 years of preaching their beliefs to the public specifically to preach "this good news of the kingdom " as they claim to do in obedience to j.c.commands at matt.24:14.. take a survey no matter where you live on this planet earth of the people in your locality and if you asked them "what was the message jehovah`s witnesses left you and no one would be able to say "they told me about and explained to me the good news of the kingdom" and what it would mean to me.. no one would be able to say that .after 140 years of preaching and witnessing by what is now 8 million plus jehovah`s witnesses .. what a waste of time and energy and lives .. after 140 years of preaching what do the public know about jehovah`s witnesses ?.

they don`t take blood transfusions .

The good news of the Kingdom is described in detail at 1 Corinthians chapter 15. The JWs don’t preach this good news but another one. Galatians chapter one describes what’s happens to these ones that preach another gospel.

Ectopic pregnancy

ectopic pregnancies, when detected, are usually treated by surgically removing them.

i always understood that this procedure was ok for jehovah's witnesses.

but the subject came up during pioneer school.

WT says it’s a life as soon as the egg is fertilized, yet 25% of all these are aborted because they didn’t attach properly to the uterine wall so Jehovah is the world biggest baby killer of all time!
