Baptism of a chid and an elder's response to my objection
by never a jw ini just learned that an 11 year old kid is taking the questions for baptism.
as soon as his father finished tellig me this, i told him that he should make his son wait, but he responded that he couldn't go against jehovah' spirit.
i gave the guy a break because he is the uneducated and naive immigrant who puts his heart, not his mind, into the religion.

Adultery in the Bible
by BU2B ini know that when you take a marriage vow, faithfulness is expected and either party going outside that bond is wrong.
however as i read the bible i seem to notice that in the old testament a woman having relations with anyone not her husband was adultery, however the only way a male can commit adultery is to have relations with another married woman, thereby infringing on another mans wife.
if a married man was to have relations with an unmarried woman or prostitute, this isnt considered adultery.

I think the question is an easy answer, woman are not driven by the need to have sex, so is it not possible that a provision was included in the bible for men to have sex with more then one parnter, more then one wife or prostitute? As we know one of the biggests complaints married men of today (esspecailly in the US) have is not enough physical activity with ones mate.

Soldiers of Jah
by cofty ini would like to propose an ethical dilemma for those who believe in the divine inspiration of the bible.. in the following scenarios i am not asking you what you would have done but rather, what you hope you would have had the courage to do.. scenario 1. you are camped on the east side of the jordan waiting for orders to cross into the promised land.
moses is nearing the end of his life but he has some unfinished business to take care of before he hands over to joshua.
he announces that he has had an instruction from god to take revenge on the midianites before he dies.

I always wondered if these events were truly accurate why God didnt just kill the captives himself, sending an angel at night like he did with the Assyrian army and sparing the mental effects that killing babies and woman would have on the Israelite warriors. Theres at least 2 times that i know of were the bible in probably mistranslated not including sperious additions. One were Goliath was like 9 feet tall, other evidence and older translations of the texts say closer to 7 feet. and were Jesus says its easier for a camel to get through a needle, the same word in Greek means Rope. So with that i mind maybe some of these events were not accuratly put down in writing, for God doesnt seem to be any were near as loving as his son Jesus but Jesus says he is.

If you look at Luke 22;28-30 this discussion with the apostles about a kingdom for them was at a different time and after the discussion about the New Covenant. Also this discussion for a kingdom is also discussed in Matthew 19;27-30 and Luke 12;32 showing it was discussed at even an earlier time altogether before the New Covenant meal. The Greek words [diatithemai, dietheto] used in the verse Luke 28;29 do not mean covenant, but the more accurate words in English is appoint or promise and this is what other bible translations use. So this later discussion is not about the New Covenant at all as it would seem, its a promise made by Jesus and does not need to be mediated.

Nice post Newly Enlightened, the GB is so stuck on the 1914 date they have to make up two Kingdoms to explain away the scriptures that clearly show Jesus kingdom was established before 1914. Wow they will stop at nothing with thier lies...

question, in Luke 10 Jesus says he saw satan fall like lighting and that jah handed over all thing to him in verse 22. So this indicates that when did Jesus get all athority and Satan thrown down? These scriptures indicate that it was even before Jesus death that he gain authority(maybe at baptism?) or do you think he was talking like this because he was confident that he would fo-fill his duty and dye therefore 'its in the bag' so to speak??

This coming convention (first year really understanding TATT) i'll be there because my wife and kids will be, but all the while i'll be trying to figure out how to reach my kids and may be even reach my wife a little. Will be having to do this at the same time as trying to not throwup in my mouth.

good news for the nations?! from 07/2013 WT -this is a good take!
by nowwhat? ini fully realize the revisionist history about 1919 and it has been well documented.. but what i took out of the first article about the chain of events during the great tribulation makes sense and is encouraging.. i could never understand that after doing nothing for 2000 years jehovah a god of love would wipe out 8 billion men ,women and children without given a genuine chance.
so what happens, the u.n. goes after organized religion [do'nt ask me how] then jesus starts judging.. does'nt the bible say that all who call on the name of jehovah will be saved?
so people will have a clearcut path to choose, either put their trust in god or the nations.

I have to agree with the previous post about romans chapter 10, its talking about Jesus not Jah here, also if you remember its Jesus name thats elavated above all others. The WT take the quote in romans 10:13 , its originaly in Joel well they take it out of context to mean Jehovah. Go to 2001translation.com site has a good explanation for this. Any way the WT is so busy trying to worship our almight god Jah they seemed to miss the fact that Jah sent a person to take over and be in charge until the problem was fixed. That person is Jesus Christ our King.

Sex before marriage would eliminate a lot of unhappy marriages in the Borg...
by sinis insensible, safe sex, in my opinion, should be engaged in.
because, as you get older and are ready to settle down, you will look at your potential sole mate, not for sexual reasons, but for what they have to offer mentally and if they are compatible.
when religion restricts this, and yuo must marry to have sex, i believe that you doom a marriage at the outset, because these young folks marry out of lust, only to have the rose colored blinders pulled off later, and regret the entire arrangement... .
